Official Formula 1 2010 Thread: Shanghai International Circuit guide
Pretty cool track. Lets keep this thread for ALL 2010 F1 discussions. So with that said, anyone saw Alonso overtake team-mate Massa in pit lane? BBC Sport - F1 - Ferrari play down Alonso overtake on team-mate Massa (lower you volume. Loud music :icon14:) |
A race is a race.. :) So I don't blame him...
Barcelona is up next! |
Honestly I'm pretty annoyed that the only thing keeping F1 interesting this year is the weather.
And whether or not Red Bull can keep the wheels on the car... literally. |
Seeing Schumi "struggle" is somewhat fun to watch as well...

All of the cars should be getting some big upgrades for the European stretch so maybe things will get interesting... but man, given the current rules we need to have on and off rain to make the races interesting... the dry ones are snoozers. |

Just have them run what they think makes them faster... |

No one has mentioned the new points process or the required summer break!
Also the lack of testing!! I still feel that this has been a great season so far! Hamilton, Alonso & Vettel are the best drivers on the circuit now!! (My Opinion) Petrov, Rosberg, & Schumi will be catching up soon!! |

You know he's got the most points this season and won the previous season, right? :) |

Bottom line! Watch and see!! Multiple races with bad qualifying positions that require passing the whole field to get good point positions...that's entertainment! I may be going to Canada this year...crossing fingers things work out! |
Malaysia was a good race to watch, some pretty fast guys fighting through traffic! I'm no fan of Alonso but he drove phenomenally well considering his busted gearbox. Good to see Rosberg doing well, I've always thought he had the talent to run at the front, just get him in a car to match. Shaping up to be an interesting season, hope the Euro races are more like the last three, only dry!

Aaa My thread got one-upped. :)
I expect Schumi to pull it together before the end of the season. If they can get a grip on the tire wear I think he'll pick up a lot. Speaking of tires.. I think two suppliers could be an interesting change. How long ago was it that we went to a sole tire supplier? Was it like 2007? |
Quote:
Since 2006 Bridgestone is the sole supplier... I agree it was nice to see the internal competition to see who had the better tires for the race... |

I don't think we need another tire war. The manufacturers just end up pushing the limits trying to make the best tire and it becomes a safety issue. They should have one supplier and one compound per weekend.
I guarantee that if they ran super-soft tires that wouldn't last more than 25% of the race distance the racing would be 100 times better. |

Now they have rules and limits as they wanted to make it more of a drivers race... I liked the technology combined with drivers race a lot more.... |

All I'm saying is give them soft tires. The cars can remain as high tech as ever, but with soft tires that won't go more than 25% of the race distance things will get very, very interesting. And we really have to be realistic about the tire wars... they are dangerous. Every series that has ever had a tire war has almost gotten drivers killed because of it. I don't know if you ever followed NASCAR before, but they switched to a single tire supplier after the tire war between Hoosier and Goodyear got really, really dirty in the late 80s. They were running tires that should never have been on track and hurt a number of drivers. Michelin was really pushing the envelope towards the end of their most recent entry in F1... it was about to become pretty vicious. As cool as a tire war sounds, it is just way too dangerous. |

My point was to make a statement about Hamilton becoming a danger to everyone is a bit extreme considering all the other drivers that have done that same exact thing!!!! You missed my point!! :shakes head: Quote:
