370z vs gt500
 

So I just managed to catch a stock shelby gt500 at a stoplight on a 2 lane highway. I figured it would be a good match up remembering the gt500s stock 1/4 mile runs. Well I was right, off the line we both got a good start the gt500 jumped a half a car on me off the line, by redline in first we were dead even. Shift into second both of us chirping the tires in sync still dead even. Shift into 3rd I jump up on him a half-full car and maintane that position till 120mph when i let off. He kept goin to about 140 lol never letting off so I can come up and gloat. I think he was mad but WoW was that fun. Made my day.

At first I was like wait a minute.... but then I did some research and those GT500's are 12.9@113 mph cars. Source: Car and Driver.

Definitely believable with your mods to hang with him in the first few gears. I have a feeling though if you guys went on longer he would definitely pull hard up top, considering his very healthy advantage in trap speed. I'm guessing you're probably a 108-109mph car with your mods?
