Judging by how it pegged at 260 and then wouldn't get any hotter, I would think that we will be ok. We'll find out this summer. If it can survive a Vegas track day in the summer, it can survive anything.

Yeah, thats the good news. Most oil coolers should work! Of course volume was added, thats pretty much common sense. In the case of the Mishimoto cooler, it added 1 quart. And for the oil, I used Royal Purple 5w30.

Friday at Mid-Ohio I hit 275F in 5 laps. 2 warm-up, 2 traffic with the last lap clear it hit 275. I quit at that point. I've begun putting my parts list together for my oil cooler.
On the plus side the car felt pretty good with only the Eibach springs and Hotchkis bars.

Yes, I had the Eibach springs and Hotchkis bars on the car. It didn't handle bad at all. For a basically stock car that didn't pound on you I was happy.
I let Dave Schardt from Forgeline take it out and thought the car has a lot of potential. Alignment after the install: Left Front Camber -1.8 Right Front Camber -1.6 Left Caster 5.3 Right Caster 5.0 Left Front Toe 0.00" Right Front Toe 0.00" Left Rear Camber -2.7 Right Rear Camber -2.6 (Couldn't get more positive out of the rear camber) Left Rear Toe 0.05" Right Rear Toe 0.04"

I never drove the car on the track stock. On the street the ride seemed a bit softer over the small bumps.
The front bar has no adjustment and the rear has three points. I had it set a the softest setting for the rear. On stock tires the car felt fairly neutral. I'm sure a little over-steer could be dialed in. Next up will be the oil cooler, exhaust, intake and R compounds.

R comps so soon?
I personally think R Comps should be one of the last things you do because they take the car to a level where you think you are going fast, but the tires are doing all the work... Only once I am able to get the most performance, when I know I the only thing holding me back are the tires, thats when I go to slicks. Thats me though, you may have a different opinion and way of doing things. Thanks for letting us know about your setup too. |
