look fwd to hearing what you find... in my limited time on track with this car, haven't had fading probs yet, but might be a good idea... also i honestly haven't had the car in my own garage enough since i bought it to study what's there already... i'm guessing you looked and there is no existing direct path for airflow

btw, i'm toying with the idea of a mod to the 'fanged' area to make it look more like the lower grill on the cts-v pictured below... anyone seen any photochops of this ? input on whether it'd look good or lame ? would only do it if it helped with airflow too... just an idea at this stage

RCZ

How about posting some good detailed photos of what is behind the bumper. I'd like to have a better idea of what I need to put together before I order the parts to fab a cooler.

Thanks

I experienced the same exact problem with oil temps at the track today as well. I'm a member of a local track and I usually take a different car but I wanted to try out the Z.

I had driven to philly one time before this and got stuck in traffic, noticed extreme oil temps. It's alarming especially when the ambient temperature is under 60 degrees and under normal driving conditions. Nissan Should make this right. In all of the sports cars I have owned an own I have NEVER had a problem with extreme oil temps.

I think it's inexcusable though that Nissan let the car go out with this sort of problem, for a 2 mile road course I could barely get 6 laps in before I ran into power reductions and oil temps pushing up to 300!!! I called the dealer to complain about it. Don't know how much everyone follows other cars but this happened with the BMW 335 when it came out and they did put oil coolers on the customers cars.

Also I can't hear the engine over the wind noise and frequently had to look at the tach to know where I was. Obviously will be putting on an exhaust and a real cold air intake, bc the engine compartment is way too hot.

The positive is the car handles pretty damn well for the money, just needs a few mods but I think owners need to bring it to the dealers and nissans attention about rising oil temps under NORMAL conditions!

Just my thoughts sorry for any grammar errors or my rant. Also disappointed bc my in car camera's angle sucked so no good footage for you guys but I just got the new motorsports one I'll mount for next time, and I promise some cool clips.....

The STILLEN Oil Cooler Kit is finished, waiting for the brackets to come back from plating. It will launch next week, and features a SETRAB cooler, full bolt-on kit.

I'll get details and pricing out as soon as I can next week. This should take care of these problems..

It would be nice to have a sticky in this section for oil coolers. At least 3 vendors have announced kits. For those that track or intend to track their cars this is important information.

For what its worth, I just track tested the Mishimoto Oil Cooler kit and it worked well! Oil temps never went past 260 and I was ringing the car out as hard as I could.

I did two 20 minute sessions, and two "time attack" sessions, which consisted of a brisk warm-up lap, and 3 hard laps each.

In the second 20 minute session I pushed the car as hard as I could for as long as I could specifically to test the oil cooler. It got to 260 degrees about half way through then didn't budge for the other half. Then also, on the cool down laps it would get back down to about 220-230 fairly quickly.

Has anyone installed and tested the Central 20 oil cooler?
