i'd be interested... maybe he could tell us which would have won in different customer categories: for the normal asian dudes, for the track addicts, for the drifters, for the posers, for the yuppies, etc... also, what does he think about its potential for tuning...

had my formula ford event today at bondurant ! boy, i'm tired... no abs, no nada... i was fast! but late in the day definitely making rookie mistakes - waaay late braking, grinding into second at end of straight... i look forward to getting back to syncro gears and srm next weekend !

I've only been on the second page.

1 i'd change oils to a nice 5w30 with a 0w 40 mixed in(sythetic/ Mobil/RP/RL/Valvoline super syn
2. id go with SS lines and Hawk pads ( ceramics)
3. stock.rotors are good...but a nice set of inexpensive but good slotted rotors are always betterat heat disapation.
***4. If your tracking the car....i'd remove the coolant and add 80% distilled water and 20% water Wetter or its equivalent. a remote fan switch might be helpful here as well.

the BS RE050......but i'm not clear if your running the sport package. I'd think Nitto 555's would do an excellent job.
My RE50's on my GTO wouldn't hook for shnitz....though drag radials isn't the answer here....

people don't seem to know coolant/antifreeze is for cold weather and anti corrosion.....you need only 2 bottle of water wetter for it anticorrisive properties . Water , by nature removes more heat per gram than any coolant.
In Street "encounters" since they never last long.....none of these issues pop up.
but i'm betting a good sythetic oil and better coolant mixtures could stave off your oil heatup issue.
+ a fulyy broke in motor.
did you use the rev match..or turn it off....and how was it at constant redlines.

You broke it in right.. the oil temp thing is somehting i think type and the engine being green has something to do with.

jm race opinion.

when i track my american Z...i use exactly what i use on the street. no tire changes, nothing....

i think your car should be abe to turn your track times, as is. Not augmented. In drag racing i only change the tire pressures... sometimes just let some out of the rears and run..

OP thanks for all the good info.

regress;

I did a small local track ..... recently paved about 1.5 mile.

this new engine does have some design flaw ..i've never seen tekps rise that fast.
No 1 priority external oil cooler. in a high flow area... and maybe a resizing of the pan bigger with more capacity and cooling ability.

arrrh.

All it needs is an oil cooler IMO. Having an oil cooler is good anyway...

I forgot where I read it, but I remember reading from a review that buying NISMO aftermarket parts specifically the oil cooler, and the brake fluid cooler, is highly recommended. Gahh.. it bugs me where I read that.. But that's one thing they do highly recommend if your going to track the car.

+1. ARC does a wonderful job with their cooling products also; It is said that the 370 experiences similar heat levels that the R35 goes through under extreme conditions. If that is the case then cooling is a definite must.
