Before I purchased my 370Z I had a 2006 Z51 C6 with an intake, headers, cats, exhaust and a tune. It was fast, but I didn't enjoy driving it as much as I do my 370Z or for that matter my 350Z. The interior of the C6 is not very nice (and I had a 3LT), especially the seats, the steering is vague and the car shifts more like a truck than a sports car. The C6 is a great bang for the buck, but it's not the driver's car that the 370Z is in my opinion. |
It's only 30lbs less but guys I get it. I don't have a chance. Thanks!

Your friend is right.
You have no chance in hell even with full boltons and a tune. You have to go forced induction to beat a vette. Vette's are way underated. |
LOL... I love all of these responses... I'll bet PBPD never imagined getting railed so bad lol...
Anyway, I have to agree with most of the response...technically the vette should kill it. They pull so much harder at higher speeds than ours.... the person who said they got spanked from like 80-???, I definitely believe it. That being said...... I was messin with this "older" guy one day on a couple of different roads. We finally got to a light and he waved me up and said, "lets see what ya got"... well he "forgot to turn off his traction control" so I spanked him off the line, cause he just kept slippin and trac kicked in. But after close to a quarter mile his was making some crazy progress on me. It was close, I can't say either way who got it, but yea, better just hope he forgets the traction control or something... Seems like it would be a fun thing to "settle" though. Can't believe you haven't done it/talked him into it by now. |

I agree... It's always fun to compete lol, even if it isn't much of a competition.

Sorry to re post on this thread...but my 2 cents (which seemed to be already discussed...but here goes). The Z is a better buy, for me at least, for a few reasons. Gorgeous interior, ample power, great handling, and it's not a Chevy. I could have gotten a Z06, but just didn't want one. Sure it can out perform a Z in every category, but I don't need something that is trying to kill me! For the money, the Z is an amazing value as an everyday car that you can take to school or work or whatever. It's pretty impractical compared to say, an Altima or Camry, but it has those qualities of a comfortable, fun, and simply eye-catching car that happens to be faster than probably 98% of what you'll pull up next to at a light.
If I wanted a purely track vehicle...then hell yeah I'd be in a Z06. |
