ConceptZ 2-piece rotors

Black Friday sales everywhere, and this came to my attention:

https://conceptzperformance.com/para...-s_p_79464.php

CZP is offering 2 piece rotors “by Paragon”, sale price $675
Weight is listed at 19.6lbs

They ALSO sell “normal” Paragon rotors for us, sale price $905
https://conceptzperformance.com/para...2f_p_78357.php

Weight is listed as 19.73 lbs

Can anyone spot a difference? Other than the weight, and apparently the finish color, they seem identical which makes the price gap unusual

I sent them a message a few hours ago and received no response

Paragon is the hot **** right now for track day fun, sponsoring a local track event organizer, LightSpeed. By all accounts they are the real deal , so how is CZP undercutting the normal price by a couple hundred bucks

Curious to see what CZP says.

I read that Paragon was the sole distributor of Alcon in US. Don’t know what their relationships are now exactly.

Hypothesis: Maybe CZP needs to move inventory. CZP’s version has its name etched/engraved on the hat, and it has a different SKU than the “normal” paragon ones, that makes me think CZP has these in stock already (as in CZP had money in these inventory already), and not a drop ship. Price drop is needed for this Black Friday because Z1 has theirs at $99x for full set (that’s pre pandemic level low price). Although that’s apple vs water melon…

Paragon/Alcon front BBK is @ great price too.

I know you don’t have high opinion on GK tech, but it also offers 2 pc rotors and on sale right now.

I already got Paragons from Paragon during their sale (10%) off, which I’ll use next track season

My recommendation is the Z1 two-piece rotors.

Seen here:

They are on Black Friday sale, and you can get the front and rear for $1,000.

You also have a couple of options to choose from.

Thanks but…the Z1 rotors have been discussed extensively, and….i already have them in my car. I was looking for an upgrade.

This is my polite response

CZP never got back to me but I reached out to Paragon themselves and they replied the same day:
“Thank you for reaching out. The CZP rotors are legit and are manufactured by us.

The CZP by Paragon rotors utilize a newer design which eliminates the non-contact areas on the rotors. The CZP by Paragon rotors are slightly lighter as well. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us. We'd be happy to help! Thank you.”

Also
“CZP: black Geomet anti-corrosion coating. The black coating covers the entire rotor then when you start to use them the face turns back to silver where there is contact, and all the recessed parts remain black/protected

Paragon: w/o Geomet anti-corrosion coating”

Seems like good news - you can feel safe ordering the CZP versions and saving a few bucks!

I’m annoyed I missed out and got the more expensive normal version
