Bolt-on acceleration improvements
Have any of you guys quantified an improvement in 0-60 or 1/4 mile times after installing catbacks, HFCs, and intakes? I'm curious if anybody has truly demonstrated the improved butt and real dynos result in real world speed improvements. Hell, I'll even take a story about how your bolt-on 370 outran a stock one. 30 whp seems like it should make a noticeable improvement in these times.

30whp improvement is noticable on track. Might also consider shedding some dead weight from the car. Dropping weight is usually cheaper than adding power. The end results can be the same.

Sharif, can you chime in on the weight reduction thread on some good weight reduction & proper distribution of that weight. I am sure anyone can take out weight but doing it properly is another side of things.

So what you are saying is I can: ~Buy a lighter battery ~Remove weight in the rear ~Balance this with suspension/alignment mostly? I always viewed it as a balancing act, I was unaware suspension/alignment could help weight balance.

A quick 90 lb. reduction without really compromising balance would be the passenger seat/jack/spare, did it for the track this weekend, weighed the car before and after removal and saved 91.7 lbs exactly, not too shabby if you ask me!

I went from 13.209 to 12.8009 when i changed the intake. cats, and exhaust.
Base line 265 RWHP stock. to 292 with mods. 60 ft times droped from 2.0179 to 1.964 1/8 mile times 8.5939 @ 83.21 mph to 8.323. @ 86.36 It trapped at 110.33 and 110.92 with mods. stock 370 z sport 7 AT.

I remember the VQ35HR's running 13.1 stock on I think a 350z sit eor Streetfire a while back and they bashed the 370z when it was released. I don't remember the trap speeds since only looking at the ET doesn't really do a whole lot but I woul like to see someone with some really good drag strip skills to drain the 370z 100% of its straight line performance. The way the Z performs in the turns is a whole different story but everyone can understand a simple drag race.

Not to be rude or anything, But isnt Acceleration= Force x mass? So if you change your Force(horsepower) or your Mass (weight) It will make a difference in your acceleration. simple physics.
