Default Wheels / Tires for Track Time

I'm looking for a new set of wheels and tires for my 2018 Nismo Tech to use strictly for track days. Has anyone or does anyone know if I could drop to 18" wheels which seems to have more cost effective options than the 19" wheels and tires?

Many of us using 18 inch wheels, I have 18x10.5 square, even though I have a sport touring, it has the same Akebono calipers.

Most any track oriented (lightweight) wheel from a reputable brand will fit.

If you want something affordable, check out the Konig Hypergram. Can get 18x10.5 and looks really good with meaty tires. I bet the red would look dope on a white Nismo.

You just got to decide what your budget for wheels are and then pick reputable company. I have two sets of 18s...Enkei nt03 10.5 +30 square. I run a 15mm spacer on the rear. My other set are Volk te sl 11 +18 square. Both these setups allow me to rotate tires as I need without having to dismount and mount the tires on a different wheel. My car is a 2010 Nismo and I am lowered on Fortune Auto 500 coilovers. They fit with no rubbing issues.

There is a thread all about 18's on the 370z in the wheel section.

I would give it a read for some ace examples of what 18's look like on these cars and some of the set-ups people go with.

Allow me to sum up:

Buy the OEM 18" wheels for track duty.
- They clear the Akebono brakes.
- Pay no more than $300 + shipping for used OEM 18's.

Put 245 on the front and 275 on the rear with as much stickyness as you'd like.

Proceed to drive as if on fire.

Did you modify your front fender for 10.5s? A vendor I contacted said they would not recommend a wheel wider than 9.5 on the stock fender and height.

I run 19x10's lowered with no issues and 285/35/19 tires on the front. Find another vendor. Their knowledge is lacking.

I run the same wheel/spacer set up as Hotrodz, the nt03 18x10.5 +30 square with the rear spacers. Lowered on Swifts only. No fender modifications needed. Camber is -3.3 front and -2.6 rear.

I have 2 set of TSW Nurburgring with tires on it. They are 18x9.5 and 18x10.5. Interested?

I ran 10.5 +18 on stock suspension with -2.5 camber front and 275/40/18 with no issues, the same I am running now lowered with -2.65 camber, rarely rub. I didn't do fender roll or modified anything. I will go with 285/30/18 (lets say it is 295 or 305 as bfg run wider) now and I am planning on going with -3.5 front camber, and I don't think it will be an issue as I was at that camber when I took my car for the alignment.

The OEM Nismo wheels are strong and light, Forged Rays. 18" is a good option for a track only setup and a number of people do that. Just stay away from cast wheels, they tend to crack, unlike forged wheels which tend the just bend, fixable. Enkie track wheels are well proven and the lowest price generally.

I haven't had to do anything to the fenders everything clears easily. You just need to get the appropriate off sets and you will be good to go.

got any pics?

I just picked up some 18x10s all around. Going a little beefier with 275/40/18 tires.
