Good lord... trying to replace the aerocatch latches on my new hood. I've dropped at least 8 of the tiny backplate nuts into the hood cavity. Managed to recover most of them. But there are 2 still down in there. Cannot for the life of me get them to dislodge. Even with a friend shaking the damn hood in all directions. Anyone have any thoughts as to the most likely placed they got stuck? I'm not leaving them in there. I got most of them with a strong magnet because they didn't drop far (stuck above the vents). But I'll have to use a coat hanger or something to dislodge the last ones it seems. Just trying to figure out where they are it's a Seibon vented CF hood...
And this is why I'm done fùcking with the car. The littlest crap turns into a huge pile of bs. I don't have time for this shìt. Cancelled a date to figure this out and now I'm worse off than when I started lol

I'll mess with it later. Best approach seems to be taping a strong magnet to the coat hanger and scrape around the inside of the hood I guess...

Every project on the car. You figure it's going to take X amount of time to do it. In reality. Triple the time you had planned on. And if you don't have the experience doing it. Triple the time again.

Pretty much everything I've ever done on the Z was a first time for me. The bigger the job, the more realistic my expectations are. My problem is the smaller jobs lol
No more small shìt. I'll take the hood to a body shop. Then I'm going to DIY the Wavetrac install

It's always the littlest ****. Pulling the OEM cats for the first time took me an hour; demon bolts, 15 minutes; new speakers, 4 hours (fitment issues).
Smart move cancelling the date JAR, always good to let them know where they stand in the hierarchy of things Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk |

Thought about showing up an hour late. After a couple of margaritas. Rub my hands all over the undercarriage and don't wash them. Then gauge her reaction and go from there lol

Oh and I did get one of the last nuts. I'm pretty sure there's one more down there. Or else it fell out (doubt it).

Jar,
I have pretty much every one of your mods on your list and then some. Done most work myself. Let me know if you have any specific questions. Enjoy it!

Tomorrow or at least sometime this week I'm going to meet with Kevin to try and put some organization to this build process. The labor costs are adding up quick, so I'm rethinking some DIY stuff.
What I really don't want to do myself is the stuff behind the timing cover (oil galley gaskets and oil pump gears), new clutch and CMAK, CJM fuel system items, and new differential (plus SPL diff and subframe bushings). I'm looking to DIY the oil cooler, brake ducts, SPL FUCAs, ARC coolant reservoir and catch cans. I already have all those parts but I figure it makes sense to do all of those after I have Kevin do his work. One consideration that just came up the other day... instead of getting TPs I have an opportunity to purchase some used LTHs. I think they are FI. Anyone think it's a bad idea? Either way I think it makes sense to do TP/LTH when Kevin pulls the motor and trans.

Damn you Rusty... I'm eyeballing a good deal on a set of RB 2-piece rotors. Looking at around $1700 for front and rear rotors with open slots. Might be adding clutch to the DIY list
