Nissan Motorsports Retirement

Sad news for motorsports fans as Richard (Rick) Kulach announces his retirement from Nissan North America as of October 2, 2018. Kulach has had a stellar career with the company as the SW district operations manager, product planner and as the head of Nissan Motorsports in North America. His efforts over the last decade have provided support for U.S. amateur and pro racers and will be missed. Kulach joins very select company of legendary former Nissan motorsports directors like **** Roberts, Kas Kastner, Frank Honsowetz and Ron Stukenberg. True to his nature as a hardcore racer, Kulach may finally find the time to prepare his own racecars for competition. Happy retirement!

Best guy Nissan ever had to run the Motorsports dept. was Paul StClair. And they let him go. :shakes head:

Actually, Paul was never the head of Nissan Motorsports. He primarily worked for Ron Stukenberg, who was the manager at the time.

I got along great with Paul. I didn't have to jump through all the hoops that others had to, to get parts.

Glad to hear you got along with Paul. Most racers campaigning in a known series (NASA, SCCA, etc.) were able to register with Nissan Motorsports and purchase parts from them. Just one form to fill out and not a lot of hoops, IMO.

I've had some issues with a couple of people at Nissan Motorsports when I was buying parts. They didn't like trackrats. If you was racing in a series, no problem. I haven't bought parts off of them since Paul left.
