Had a massive lockup in the race car 2 weeks ago, with the throttle stuck wide open on approach to a 6the gear corner that needs a hard brake and down one gear .......

Here is image of the tyre - totally FUBAR

Can't blow the picture up to take a better look at it. But it looks like you flat spotted it. :icon14:

Just put the flat spot on top and you will be ok. :rofl2:

Ouch!! FUBAR indeed.

Just recap the tire and have another go at it... what could go wrong???

LoL

Yep, flat spot about the size of a beer can - maybe 2 inches across ......... and every time I braked after that I could feel it pinch the tyre again.

It was LH front on a left hand circuit (only a couple of RH turns - mostly LH turns hence "left hand circuit") so at least I was spared understeer.

Just tore up 5 x $100 bills - tyre had only done 6 heat cycles and was less that 50% worn ......

Looks like a worn out 11L-16 ,that came off a tracto/backhoe-loader!

Don't you just hate that when it happenings. :shakes head:
On the bright side. You don't blow it out and cause more damage.
