Aeromotions wing install
For anyone who's installed this wing, does it move a bit laterally?
I used the stock mounting hardware (the black aluminum feet that come with the wing), bolted it all down. And vertically the wing is very solid but side to side it moves maybe a quarter inch. The play seems to be coming from the aluminum trunk which has some give to it. I've seen other installs where they did reinforced (Mike the powdercoater's install). Wondering if I need to go that route as well thanks guys, appreciate the help |
Yes, if you are bolting to the hatch you will need to reinforce it.

No issues with mine at all. Zero reinforce

reviving an old thread, I've been trying to find how to reinforce the hatch but to no avail, my APR wing shakes quite a bit even at 40 mph and I'm wondering what I can do

The other method is to make a stand that attaches to the bottom of the hatch were the wing mounts are mounted. You would use longer bolts to fasten the two together and then the stand would set and can be affixed to the bottom of the trunk if that makes sense. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk |

another suggestion my shop gave me was to use cables, not sure how that would work though if hatch is the issue I guess if we cable it to the rear bumper? but would never be able to use the trunk again.... |

another question is, what effect does it have when the wing shakes much, am I loosing DF or its getting inconsistent airflow? |

Mike used aluminum plate to increase the footprint of the bases. Then had the aluminum painted to match.
