Anyone know if these have the same issue as a quaife, where if a tire is off the ground it behaves like an open diff.

Very tempting. Let me think about it for a month. But I've been looking at this diff for awhile.

This help from 2010?? "Cliff notes: Both are Torsen-type LSDs. Both are arguably one of the best performance mods you can make to the 335. Both have similar installations. In 99.999% of daily driving & track use you would never be able to tell the difference. Wavetrac is less $, USA company, tension at zero load provides more lock when one wheel is airborn or on glare ice with no friction. Quaife has long history of reliability, better lubrication. Bottom line: This is a coin flip IMO. Stop wasting time worrying about minute differences and buy either one. Most important issue is to get the chunk installed properly by a very experienced shop into your final drive." __________________ "With one wheel off the ground (or spinning out), both wavetrac and quaife function at or near their minimal lock %. ( I refer to : "some % greater than zero but near zero" ) In the spinning wheel case, the quaife is closer to zero lock % than the wavetrac, but both are at a low % regardless."

I went with the Quaife a few years ago and I wish that I had gone with the Wavetrac instead. The biggest problem for me is that getting into my garage requires a right-hand turn up an incline that barely clears the bottom of the car. I tend to lift the inside rear tire going in and it unloads the tire. The car just sort of sits there spinning the wheel unless I have just the right amount of momentum where I will clear the incline and not scrape the bottom of the car. In actual driving situations I'm sure I wouldn't be able to tell the difference most of the time. Either way, coming from an open diff the Quaife was a HUGE improvement.

I love my Wavetrac because of the increased predictability regardless of the bumpy surfaces or in slide. Being FI, getting even power to the ground is huge!

You don't get that with the factory VLSD. It is terrible. I was spinning one tire coming out of the turns on the dragon when I got on the throttle hard. That was stock NA. That is how bad the factory VLSD is. I will be in for this, just gotta wait a while for the finances to settle down due to all the fun I have been having lately.

Believe me it does lock, driving on the Dragon in the rain was so much fun because of that. Also, at the airstrip the left lane has some bumps in it and I didn't seem to lose nearly as much traction as last year and it was not as tricky to navigate because both wheels were spinning at the same rate.

I have the 7AT with VLSD and am definitely interested in this. How intensive of a job is it to replace the axle flange? PM pricing?
thanks
