I haven't been yet, but plan on going next month, just to see the race, and drive the Big Bend/Rio Grande area. If you're not familiar with this...check it out.

Texas: Big Bend Open Road Race (BBORR.com)
I haven't been yet, but plan on going next month, just to see the race, and drive the Big Bend/Rio Grande area. If you're not familiar with this...check it out. serious stuff. Hwy 285 in SW TX is closed for the event, and the race is on. Each class/car runs for 59 miles each way. The closest average speed, to say the 115 mph class wins. There are many classes, from 85 up to 175 mph and beyond. Too many details for me to try to explain it here, but WOW, what a ride!
