My track day/time trial Nismo build....

Hey guys, I have been lurking around in the background for a while and decided it was time to participate. Some of you may recognize my car as it was for sale not too long ago. I had been building this car for a customer of mine for several years when he decided to part with it, so I sold my Vette and purchased it during the winter.

This is the current list of mods, Im lucky to have done about 90% of the installs myself before purchasing the car, so I know what I've got.

Engine:

GTM Twin turbo kit, ceramic coated all the hot parts, wire tied all the nuts, has been very reliable for 4+ years. 512whp@9psi, 567@11psi.

Id1000 injectors

Walbro 255 in-tank pump, Integrated Engineering surgetank with submerged Bosch 044 and Fuel pressure regulator.

Custom built true-dual 3 Inch exhaust.

CSF radiator

Setrab 24 row oil cooler

Greddy Profec boost controller

Custom built catch can.

Engine is internally stock.

Drivetrain:

Z1 Motorsports Lightweight flywheel and 6 puck clutch

Zspeed CSC and steel braided line

Tomei 1.5way limited slip

Whiteline Differential mount bushings

Suspension:

KW v3 coilovers

Kinetix Front upper arms, rear toe arms, rear trailing arms.

Whiteline front sway bar

Wheels are tsw Nurburgring 18x10.5 +27 with 315/30-18 Toyo r888 all around.

Other stuff:

Stillen front bumper

Stillen brake cooling kit

DBA rotors and hawk dtc60 race pads.

Seibon Vented hood.

Custom power steering cooler.

Pretty simple recipe for a fast car right now, but I have some plans this year to get the car quicker. Ill be posting my track pics and vids here along with build photos from this year.

Hope I can keep your interest!

Zack

Dug up a couple pics from my Tomei LSD install a couple weeks ago. So far I am very impressed with how much more power I can put down. It is fairly chunky around the tight parking lot corners however. Hopefully with more break in it will smooth out better.

I probably should have gone with a taller ring and pinion when I installed this, but last year the cars biggest weakness was the differential on low-medium speed corner exits.

Alright guys, I was able to get some work in on the car last night. I got the rear completely converted to 2.5" springs. Ended up going with 8 inch long, 750lb eibach's to start. Part # is 800.250.0750.

Pretty easy process to get them on there. I made some spring locators out of stainless steel, and then bolted them through the lower arm. I did have to use a tender spring setup to get to my ride height, which complicated things. I had to make sure that the tender spring would fully compress without the collar contacting anything. So the spring was riding on top of the helper not on the collar. Ended up fitting well, Im using the KW adjusters up top still.

My 900lb fronts will be in early next week, and then Ill be able to do some testing before my outing next weekend!

Got to work on the car some last week, rear race spring conversion is all done now. I ended up making some lower spring cups out of stainless to bolt to the arms. Because of the droop travel my kw's have I had to use a tender spring to keep the spring seated when full extended. This added a fair amount of complication, mainly making sure there was clearance between the base and the tender adapter so that the spring could be full compressed. I may end up just strapping the arms like I have done in the past to limit the amount of droop travel the car has. If I get to much noise or deformation of the tender it may be needed.

These are Eibach ERS 750lbs/in. part #0800.250.0750.

My 900lb springs for the front should be in today and I will actually get to go see how much more body control the car has.

On to the pics!

nice build man!

On the alignment rack before the weekend with the new springs. Ended up lowering the car a bit since the springs are stiffer.

Alignment for this weekend:
Caster= 6.5*
camber front= -2.7*
Front toe= 0* (these cars are typically toe'd in)

Rear camber= -1.9*
Rear toe= 1/8 total toe-in. I may end up running substantially more if the car continues to struggle putting the power down.

FIGHT!

Well I got the car out again last weekend for an Autox at one of my favorite northwest clubs. Their site always has a good balance of high speed and technicality. The car was MUCH better on the new springs, transitioned much quicker and was more predictable because alignment was better maintained.

I need to change the exhaust around a little, with the car lower I was scrapping it in places. Especially on the oval where there is compression of the suspension.

Ended up 4th fastest raw time for the day, and second fastest street tire car there. Ill take that for being on Toyo road race tires, not the new batch of awesome 200tw street tires.

Link to a vid with me and my co-drivers fastest laps overlayed. I gain just a little time here and there, overall happy with my driving for the second time out with the car.

Ill try and get individual videos loaded up, unfortunately I can only link em for now.

Enjoy! My specs are almost 100%. Love it.

After last weekend I think I am going to try and get -3* at least up front. Having to run too much of a pressure stagger to keep the sidewalls in check.

Ive never chalked my tires, is this what youre talking about? Im at -2.9*. Maybe this summer ill start doing it.

What are your pressures at? I run a 5 lb difference front to rear when autocrossing...
