My car has been doing really well on the overtired toyo's at around 34psi front, 30psi rear. Im going to be adding camber to the front for the next round, this is surface isn't all that high of grip so at other sites/track I should have more of a problem.

Sounds about right for asphalt. I run 35F/30R and that seems to help the rear. I go about 3 lbs higher on (rare) concrete...

Ended up getting the car out for a SCCA Track Night in America event the second weekend of the month. Car performed very well for me all afternoon, temps are in check finally and the suspension setup is much better than last year.
Need to get my brake ducting and new pads and rotors on before the next outing, I never lost brakes but they were definitely being taxed on this day. Ended up running a 1:24.9 at Portland International Raceway which is my best "road tire" time at this track. Highest straight speed was 149mph, also up 4.5mph from the last time out. I'm confident there is 2 seconds in the car if I were to add a wing, so I'm struggling with how much of a "street car" I really want it to be. A battle which I usually lose and end up doing racecar stuff. http://i1354.photobucket.com/albums/...psfdq8xdch.jpg http://i1354.photobucket.com/albums/...psy3kumrb4.jpg Zack |
Single 24 row oil cooler works for you at that power? What are the max temps? hit limp mode at all?

24 row cooler 7" shrouded fan on oil cooler, thermostatically controlled @160* I run the pan spacer, and 1 qt overfull, so almost 7qts of oil total Motul 300v, ester core seems to produce less heat when compressed CSF radiator w/15% antifreeze and water wetter The main thing for me has been running the car richer, 11:0 a/f vs. 11.6 a/f was almost 15 degrees in oil temps and a big difference in coolant as well. I can maintain 260* oil temps now for over 25 min of running the car hard at 550whp. With the quality of oils and such now I don't think this is anywhere near unreasonable for 30min or less. And no I have never experienced limp mode. Zack |

Thermal breakdown is near 550 on modern oils, as long as you aren't running into detonation problems because of temp I think your all good to go. 240* is typically what I would shoot for as well, but modern cars do typically run much hotter.
5 years on this setup, stock engine, 500+whp for 3-7 track days a year. Zack |

Which tune you running? Uprev, or Ecutec? Running at 260F it should be pulling timing.

Sorry for the late up date guys, have only got to run the car twice in the last couple months. I ended up getting my brake ducts done finally, kind of a PITA with all of the charge piping, intakes, and oil cooler plumbing. I had to use the side vents, which I wasn't keen on doing. I decided that blocking them off completely will help with high pressure in the fender wells.
I used the Stillen mounting plates on the spindles, which fit well and made hooking up to the center of the rotor easy. I made the block of plates out of aluminum, and welded some bead rolled tube on to clamp the ducting to. I plan on getting ARP studs in so I can run 10mm spacers in back. Im also working on rear downforce options that don't include a big wing. Don't mind the munched splitter, I caught some debris. http://i1354.photobucket.com/albums/...ps396jnirj.jpg Zack |

Well I got the car cleaned up to head to my home garage for Fall/winter season. I will be doing some work on the car over the winter. Planning on getting my trans/differential coolers installed, ducting, and hopefully the bushings replaced. The paint came out good, and got all the cone/rubber marks off from a year of racing!
