Corner 3 Nissan Challenge Series 2016
Well we made it to 2016! And with no delay, the C3 challenge will begin with its no points warm-up/practice round this Sunday at Buttonwillow Race Park.
The series grew so much last year that we ended up overhauling our classing rules. They are still very similar to the west coast TA specs, but we tailored them specifically to all of the different breeds of Nissan/Datsun/Infinities out there. New classing rules are here: http://corner3motorsports.com/wp-con...arter_v2.5.pdf We have also decided to try breaking the season into 6 month segments, announcing a winner after each for each class. The first season dates of the competition are here: Corner3 Motorsports Challenge - The other big change we made was our hosting organization, Speed Ventures will be doing all of our hosting, timing, etc. for 2016. To register for events: Speed Ventures - Track Events for Everyone! This series is for all makes and models of Nissan/Datsun/Infinity cars. It is a simple Time Attack hosted at an HPDE event. It is for all skill levels beginner-open passing groups. Instruction is available through Speed Ventures when you register. We are working with some of the local racing orgs a.k.a. NASA and Alpha Romeo Race club, to try to bring some W2W and race training and licensing events. For more info please go to the FB group. Our competitors really do span the entire range of these brands, everything from s30's, a full range of Z's, Silvia's, G-TR's -this year will bring out a few R-32's! We averaged ~15 competitors per event last year, and expect that to double this season. If you have any questions, or would like to join the FB group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/NissanChallenge/ Or Contact John at Corner 3 Motorsports. P.S. The new website is still being built so some of the filtering etc. is not working yet! |
Sunday was a monsoon followed that night by a snowy drive home and later 100 MPH winds, but we at least got some good video out of it. Here's one of competitors putting in hot laps in the Lake that used to be buttonwillow this past sunday:

Results from round 2 (first points at ACS)
beautiful day at ACS, Z's were smoking fast. Was very impressed with the two Z33's that were doing low to mid 1.50's. I should be able to hit a 1.55 with no aero after being able to do a 1.57. Class 1 1st Steven Chan: 1:47.894 R35 2nd David Walters: 1:53.425 R35 3rd Viktor Cruz 1:56.361 Z33 Class 2 1st Nazar Santillan Mondaca: 1:52.383 Z33 2nd Brian Hendricks: 1:55.020 Z33 3rd Greg Seemann: 1:57.671 Z34 Class 3 1st Edgar Ferman: 2:05.951 S13 2nd Ulises Jorge 2:16.581 Z32 3rd Kenny Isa 2:19.859 S13 pics https://www.flickr.com/photos/carnin...57665098613962 |
