Did anyone else break a baffle plate in the gas tank?!?

I rarely drive my car anymore due to a busy schedule. When I got back into it last week, I noticed a loose weird noise at start up and stop.

Default Did anyone else break a baffle plate in the gas tank?!?

I rarely drive my car anymore due to a busy schedule. When I got back into it last week, I noticed a loose weird noise at start up and stop. I had my factory gas tank replaced at some point due to a broke baffle, it appears I broke the same part again! If that is indeed true, how is that possible. Has anyone else run into the same problem? I don't remember when I replaced mine, but it's got to be in 2012/2013 when my car was still under warranty. That was only like 10K miles ago!!!!

Heard if it happening to a few guys. They are secured really poorly with a couple spot welds.

That's a new one on me; unless you're using premium gas/w ethanol,,,it could be corroding the inside of your tank.
That gas start breaking down pretty quick. I have 65k on my 11' & it sits in wet weather/ but i only use Ethanol Free 93 octane.

I know of one person in a 370 that did as well....

...must not be terribly uncommon.

This is a new one on me. When I installed my RRP, and had to bend the baffle for clearance. I thought it was attached pretty good.

It's not that baffle that comes outs, at least not that i have heard of. There are 2 others in there that are very poorly supported

I don't know what part of the gas tank, phunk can probably give you a better answer on it. Basically a few years back, I started hearing clunking noise inside the gas tank. The noise would appear whenever I roll at a slow speed to a hard stop or start. It was replaced under warranty by Nissan. Fast forward another 3 years, I believe I am experiencing the same thing again. I just want to see what solutions are available. I am not comfortable dropping $1500 to replace a gas tank, especially if I know it will break again in 3 years.

Pictures from inside the tank.

1st pic. Right side looking left. The front of the tank is on the right.
2nd pic. Left side looking right. The front of the tank is on the left.
3rd pic. The baffle that has to be bent for the RRP. The front of the tank is on the left.
4th pic. The bent baffle. You can see the siphon tube on the left. Between the baffle and the front tank wall.

I probably broke the soft ones that look like swiss cheese, it just rattles inside the tank. I can't believe I broke that $hit again!

Personally I would just pull the broken one out and leave it... I cant really imagine they serve much purpose.
