Launch

Hey there,
Quick question... I been trying to practice my launch lately in my Z can't quite get it right, is it better to launch in first gear or second? Like if u took your car to the track which gear would you all launch with, oh and is there a certain rpm I need to Rev it up to first?

If I were you, I would clutch dump at 5K RPMs in 2nd gear :wtf2:

Or you could search because this question has been asked and discussed at length in numerous other threads :tiphat:

In my case I prefer 1st gear Rev to 2K-3K and dump clutch.

On a warm day I launch around 3500-4000 with my os giken diff and 305 semi slick tires. Plenty of wheel spin but the car moves.

my launch map is 3500rpm, drop clutch, just a small about of wheel spin and its off. if you have wheel hop, try slipping the clutch a bit. At the track, depending on if its prepped or not, and temperature you will need to adjust to accommodate
