No rear sway bar?

I have hotchkis sway bars on my car and didn't keep the OEM ones but I feel like the rear is to stiff, has anyone tried running no rear sway bar on a track car?

Can't speak to tracking but my autox car has been sans rear bar this whole season. As long as you have stiffer rear springs I'd say go for it.

I do. 18k front, 12k rear, hotchkis only front. Better then it was but 12k's still pretty stiff.

If you read through some of the threads. You'll find that some of the track rats no longer use a rear sway bar with the Hotchkis front bar.

I didn't but thank you, I thought it might work but for some reason I thought it was a bad idea

In reading some of the thread. Some are running a square set-up, and/or coil-overs too.

I really do wish that someone made a swaybar like my old DP Spyder had. Whiteline made it, 3 way adjustable. Stiffest was equal to stock, and just got softer. I loved it!

I have both on the car, I will give it a try.

Im square also but my main reason was my 58/42 weight ratio. What are you at?

I had it corner balanced but it's been a while so I'm not sure but it's close to yours, upper 50s/lower 40s.

Yeah id remove it and play around. My cars still slow but 1000 times better!

JWillis72 10-24-2015 04:47 PM

Thanks for the input, I will give it a try.

I have KW V3s on the car with the front set to the stiffest and the rear set in the middle, do you think I should stiffen the tears without the sway bar?

Whats the spring rate? Linear? Or progressive?

JWillis72 10-25-2015 07:04 PM

Progressive so they don't give a spring rate.

Id remove and touch nothing. Just do one thing at a time.

Go none, or try to find a buddy with a G35 that will swap rear bars.

I have a similar question I guess, since SCCA Street class rules only allow 1 sway bar change. So which will be faster (assuming car only has koni yellows)?

hotchkis front bar with oem rear bar?

or

Oem front bar with no rear bar?

I would keep your stock rear and run the hotchkis front..

I know our cars like a stiff front bar..

JWillis72 10-30-2015 10:34 AM

I would be using the stock rear with the Hotchkis front but I didn't keep the stock rear.

DR_ 10-30-2015 03:19 PM

I think the old SCCA stock class hot setup was the Hotchkis front bar with oem rear bar with a lot of Hoosier squeezed on the front tires. With street class with 200tw street tires I don't know if the same setup is used. I would try to cram the 275/35/19 RE-71R on the front with the Hotchkis front bar and see how it worked.

Zauskycop 10-31-2015 01:30 PM

I am using whiteline and though I don't autocross as much anymore, when I do it is PLENTY of bar. I felt no need for anything stiffer, and I think stiffer would just promote a push. That said, if you end up on race tires, that would probably change...
