Drifting a 370z semi automatic?

All these drifting videos really making me want to drift now lol... Is there a tutorial on how to drift with a semi automatic or is it even possible? Seems

Default Drifting a 370z semi automatic?

All these drifting videos really making me want to drift now lol... Is there a tutorial on how to drift with a semi automatic or is it even possible? Seems way too fun and I wanna put my z into some work. Couldn't find any threads that had an answer that I could understand, so hoping for better results

Of course you can drift an AT. Turn off VDC, pull the brake light fuse, and manhandle the e-brake a bit to get you started. Practice makes perfect. But don't go driving on the street with the brake light fuse pulled.

Also, drifting puts a lot of wear on the car. Don't be surprised when stuff starts breaking. Not to mention the cost of new tires all the time.

in the vid I posted seems like he just gets it in 2nd and starts sliding with the VDC off. not sure if they pulled the fuse but I don't see (it's out of frame) him ripping on the e brake too much though.

my tires have life but not much. once it gets closer to mya (zdayz) and I add my new rubber I may trash the old ones for a test lol

lol well he knows what he's doing... I've never used the e-brake or even clutch kicked to initiate a drift.

I was just assuming the OP wasn't experienced enough to be comfortable using just momentum and throttle to step out the rear end. With enough speed, there's no need for e-brake or even disconnecting the brake light fuse

I expect pulling the fuse and adding hydraulic e-brake become more useful when you're looking for sustained drifting on a road course. Donuts are easy.

without a doubt. trying direction changes without the aid of a clutch or good e-brake would be tricky lol

but you can still get one hell of a on/off ramp slide going lol

I can do it in an open parking lot without removing the fuse or using brake or clutch. I just require a lot more room for the transition - not really possible on a road course.

And yeah... cloverleaf for the win with a full tank of gas

With a little practice, it's very possible. VDC off, in manual mode. All you need is a pair of balls.

I don't drift with my semi-automatic unless it is in the glove box. Don't want to shoot myself in the foot......
