Default Track brake pads on street tire recomendations?

I've been doing a lot of reading but can't make a decision on what pads to order so I'm looking for your input. My car has been on yellow stuff pads but they are just not cutting it any more. The car is on 275 RE-11s, has the sports brakes and I spend a lot of my track time at Sebring, the track is incredibly bumpy. I want to run carbotech 10/8 but I'm concerned the bumps with those pads might give the ABS problems and give me ice mode. Anyone have experience with a set up similar to mine on a bumpy track?

There is a big bump at PI GP Circuit on the way into T4 and also Sandown into T1, and when I have Endless ME20, they always give trouble for the ABS (ME20 is a full-race pad).

However, with MX72 Endless and/or PMU HC+ I don;t have any problems (HC+ is now HC800).

Melbourne (AU) is not as hot as FL but I don't think that will be significant.

I have no expereince with CarboTech pads so cannot offer direct comparative comments.

HC+ has never given me any problems, however, I've never been on particularly bumpy tracks.

I don't see any reason to split the compounds. Personally, I think that is what gives people problems with ice mode. Nissan didn't design and test the brakes with different compounds. For street tires, either XP8 or Hawk Blue.

CMP is a pretty rough track and I found PFC 08s to be a great pad for my street tires there.

I live in Darwin (AU) weather is hot/humid 6 months of the year - then 6 months of dry fantastic weather. The pads for all round DD and light track work (Hidden Valley raceway is a fast circuit hard on brakes reducing speed) I found Endless MX72 pads all round on DBA 4000 slotted rotors. The pads hold up very well and doesn't screw ABS around.......only I squeak from time to time coming to a stop.

Not to steal the thread, but for a daily driver, how do y'all feel about changing to track/autocross pads when you change to track/autocross wheels? And then changing back for daily driving?

I used to do that Cruz, but recently I've stuck to riding around on my yellow stuff pads that I also autocross on. I may change that up because the extra dust is annoying. I also have a HPDE coming up and would like to test out my carbotech pads as well, so I'll be changing them again.

I do it for the track. It only takes under 5 minutes a wheel if you have the sport package.

Do this combo and never look back. Make sure you have brake duct coolers on the front. I run a very high speed bumpy (built in '69) track and don't have abs ice mode issues at all. I'm on stock rotors too. My turn 1 is 135mph to 55mph with about 30 bumps in all driving lines. ZERO issues.

Hope this helps.

I don't profess to actually know what causes ice mode but from a lot of research and forum scanning it looks like the car gets scared that you will spin because the rears start to lock up. I have never gotten ice mode on track with an XP10/8 split but I have gotten it twice on the road while running the same compound f/r. MX 72. That said, I think it was caused by me just stomping the pedal too suddenly rather than just a quick but progressive application as is proper. As long as you don't in any way alter your brake setup to shift the bias towards the rear (wheel OD, pad distance from center, compound) you should be OK. Especially if you do go to tire setup with less or no stagger, or move to a sticky tire that will induce more weight transfer you may be better off running a compound with more bit in the front / less rear.
