Can't see my avatar, it is below the size and dimension limits, what am I doing wrong?

I only noticed in your profile that the pic was uploaded as a profile pic

so thats the reason it didn't show up as an Avatar two different things.

Since this is already touching on the avatar topic.........

Were changes made to the automatic resizing function? I used to be able to select any picture with almost any dimensions and the forum would accept it. Now I'm getting max dimension warnings.
