I have been thinking a lot and came to a conclusion that it will not offer any benefit to our forums AT THE MOMENT. The main reason for that feature is to know what a member drives at a glance (i.e. 2010 Nissan 370Z MB M6). This way you can see the Year, color and transmission option of the posters car instead of going into their profile. This is a great help when replying post in Engine, exterior or drivetrain section. It makes it easier for other posters to reply to a post.
If I turn it on now, we will see all the different cars listed in the field because the new Z isn't out yet. This is NOT a bad thing but it doesn't have any specific benefit to the conversations. I am def going to implement this in the future but I'll wait a little until the forum has more 370Z owners. I really appreciated all your feedback. I'll keep those in mind when I launch this in the future. T-24 hours before lock.

Might be beating a dead horse
I know the thread for this was locked... but I would like to give my input! Feel free to delete this if you really do consider this topic closed.
I know you claim that there would be no benefit in seeing what all the members drive, but I beg to differ. Initially, this site got a large influx of members from cv6.com, so a few of us all had fbodies. Now, it seems like there is a huge variety of cars represented. (props for getting this site going! I'm truly impressed). One might assume that I drive a nissan, or at least an import.. based on the nature of this site. However, I drive a Camaro and a 92 Dakota... For the people here interested in knowing how the 370 will do against other cars out there, it would be nice to see which members drive what. I am on an import forum or two (buddies that drive cars that I'm interested in, so I join to shoot the ****) and I feel like I have gained a lot by making it known that I drive a car far out of the norm for them. Have gotten numerous PMs and questions in general, relating to performance, value, modifications, etc. In general, its just a good reference. Gives some insight into why someone voices an opinion that they do and whatnot. Just my $.02, of course. |
