Likes over riding Reps
I like the new like/not like thing on everybody's posts but it seems that people are forgetting that Reps are what bring your Rep score up, but what good is it if I have a whole bunch of likes but my Rep score is not going up.
Is there a way to link the 2 together b/c I have made some good threads lately and am getting more likes than I can shake a stick at, but not getting any help with the Reps.:shakes head: |
"More likes than you can shake a stick a stick at?" ROFLMBO I'm sorry but I gotta give you another "like" for that;)

It just seem to be a waste when you go to your members page and see all these likes, now don't get me wrong they are cool but what good are they if they can't some how be applied to your Rep score. |
like :)

Judging by the comments you get, you already have the respect of all the ppl that matter and most of the ppl that don't. Quit worrying about it.
We like you. We really like you. (apologies to Ms. Field) |

whats so good about rep that you care

The downside is like you explained that you don't rep credit for the same positive posts or thread. There is no way of linking them to get you the credit you're asking for. I see the positive in the feature and negs like your complaining about. Here's AK's explanation of the like feature if you need more clarity. http://www.the370z.com/announcements...-s-ak370z.html |
You do realize that only you can see your rep points and no one else, right? The amount of rep you have is only visible to others up to a certain point. The little green boxes below your "Rep Power" increase the more rep points you have, but at a certain point the number of boxes gets maxed out (which is the case for you OP). The rep power itself goes up based on the number of posts you have and how long you've been a member IIRC.
Also there aren't any forum rules saying that anyone has to give rep, it's a completely voluntary thing. In the end it really doesn't matter, so you should probably stop worrying about it :p |
I liked him but didn't rep him because I'm jealous and spiteful :icon23:

As far as everybody else I don't need to be schooled in what or how Reps work or what you can see or don't see (and yes I can see everybody's Rep number) I've been here for over 2 yrs. and the reason I care is b/c is I thought it would be an important question to ask since nobody else did. |
What about 10-20 likes equals one rep?
