huck, if you are willing to do it, then i thnk we would all be supportive of you taking the lead on it.

just need mods to make us a little section of maybe "rotm submissions" and "rotm past winners"

Huck 03-14-2012 01:50 PM

Ok sounds good, I'll shoot them a pm and see what they say about it. If you guys want you could throw me suggestions at the beginning of the month as to what theme to pick for the month and then I'll choose one.

I will have a few suggestions when the time comes to set it up

Just out of curiosity, how do people handle the rejection on other forums? If every time a winner is announced people start piping up about how it’s BS, that someone else should have won, etc., then I don’t think AK would really want it here. AK and drama don't jive :icon17:

From my experience on the chevy duramax forums, everyone was quite fair.. Cant argue with the polls!

On my local forum everyone is very nice and chimes in with "well deserved" , "congrats", "very nicely done", etc. However, this is local where most of the guys know eachother offline.

IMO, we just need to make it clear that this isn't a "my car is better than yours" competition/poll. It's more about every month selecting one individual to honor his or her efforts with his or her car. This can be honoring someone for their modding efforts, their picture taking efforts, etc. depending on the theme of that month. The idea is that if there are 10 candidates 9 did not get "rejected".

Plus if the poll is public I can't see how people will start calling BS. Cant argue with the majority.

If you guys think this would be a big issue, however, here's an idea:
Make the ROTM random - If it's possible, to select out of only those who have at least X amount of posts min. and have logged in at least X amounts of times last month. I would rather this thing be about the some what active users of the forum.

This is a cool concept. There are so many awesome Z's on this site, modded for looks, performance, or a little bit of both. It'd be nice to see some friendly competition spark up.

edub370 03-14-2012 03:48 PM

Agreed. i dont think anyone can call bs or argue polls out of a majority rule. plus our forum seems to be pretty reasonable with public polls. if someone were to say "this is bs", they would have no grounds to stand on with that claim. i think some friendly competition would be good

IT is one of the things that's one the list that we will start later this year. The winner should receive a license plate frame that says something like "Ride of the Month November - THE370Z.com" etc. It will be something I'll "try out" first and see how it goes because as frost said, I don't want any drama or want this extra activity to cause more issues than the good. So, yes, keep your eyes open for announcement LATER this year. There are some nice Zs on the forum that deserve the honor.

However, I'm ALWAYS looking for new Zs to showcase on your facebook page. I used to change them daily but being busy, I can probably update them weekly. Just send me a pm or email with the picture or link to your journal thread on the forum

Thanks

 Thanks AK

After reading through the thread it sounds like a great idea, however perhaps AK as a way to pay for the license plate frames and to narrow the pool, only Premium members can vote or only Premium members can be up for ROTM so it will encourage more people to sign up for premium membership (myself included).

My only issue is that Tony would change his car every month to win. :stirthepot:
