Totally agree as well.. we don't subscribe to that tactic, it just makes the "active topics" useless. I do agree valid specials and promotions should be allowed within the appropriate

Totally agree as well.. we don't subscribe to that tactic, it just makes the "active topics" useless.

I do agree valid specials and promotions should be allowed within the appropriate categories, it does get some people thinking about products rather than hiding them deep into a vendor specific thread, but some vendors do seem to take advantage.

I've seen other sites limit "sale" threads to 3 or 4 per vendor, or per category, and that seems to help too. A vendor can simply delete (soft delete) their sale thread and create another for the newest hottest thread.

AK, any thoughts on getting some rules together now that this bad boy is so popular?
