Can we have or do we have the one bump rule?
 

When I say "one bump rule" I am regarding ads and general discussion threads.

I think we should allow one bump per day for classifieds, and general discussion. I noticed an unnecessary bump today on a thread that didn't need a bump.

If other people bump your thread or you ore responding to a question I think that is fair, but bumping your own threads numerous times in a day, or just random unnecessary bumping should be against forum rules within Classifieds and General discussion.

Just a thought.

My bad, just found it on the outside classified rules. Can we still consider it for the general forum?

Yes, I agree with this. One bump a day is fair; anything after that just gets annoying and clutters up the thread.

what does "bump" mean anyways?

^^It means the thread gets "bumped" to the top of the list on the first page of New Posts.

But I agree...1...maybe 2 bumps a day in the classified section. I see no reason to bump any other type of thread.

I have been on many forums in my life, and the best I have seen is a bump feature that will only let you bump a thread every 12 hours.(AK can set this to whatever he likes) So even if someone post it in the thread, it just bolds the title showing something new, but doesn't bump up the thread until another 12 hours. You can put a nice bump icon on the top of the thread for the op to push to bump it after the time limit. Just a thought.
