Also there are about 1 z to every 1000 mustangs here.
We do have plenty of Z in Houston, and the Mustang/Camaro counter is crazy, if you have not seen either of those 2 in the past 5 minutes then that becomes odd.

I see Z's once in a while. I don't go looking for them though. Most of the time, they are 350z heading to the local car shop.

As for the stang comment. They can't be beat performance wise for the $ spent.

That's so true. I am just in love with how exotic the z's in the mist of all these pony cars.

I just wish the 2016's will come with better HP numbers so every 5.0 mustang and camaro ss doesnt feel the necessity to try to prove how fast they are in a straight line.

I love my z so much that the boosted route will most likely be in my near future for more hp

Do it. It's well worth the cost.

Yep, boost is fun!
If you have any questions there are a number of us on here that have T/TT/SC in Houston, plus we occasionally make it to a meet locally.

Are there any local shops you guys would recommend? I wouldnt mind getting a ballpark figure on the price and downtime needed. I am still waiting on my bikes to be shipped so I am currently without another form of transportation.

Depends on your preferred flavor of boost. A TT kit will probably take 25-30 hours of shop time. A Stillen kit half that. A BP single turbo is an easy DIY.

For shops, Use Kosmic or JTran. For help on DIY kinda stuff, there's a few members who are happy to help out for beer money.
Oso likes this.

Seeing how this is going to be my daily driver when I am not on the bike. I think i would go with a TT setup with just a moderate tune to preserve the motor. I only have 16k miles and I would like to see reach 100k one day.

I wouldnt mind going the faster route with a single but I think in the long run i will regret that I didnt go TT.

Chuck is right, Kosmic or JTran are the 2 main shops that have good history with Z & GTR (plus other platforms). If you are good with a wrench you can DIY a lot of work, but boost can be a bit much for even the best in a garage.

For modest power a SC can fit the bill & is easy to install/maintain along with not pushing the motor.
I have 400whp with a GTM stage 1 and hit 80k miles a couple months ago (was boosted at 19k miles), my rotrex unit seized up but motor is still going strong for now. Many guys are making 500-600whp with TT/T kits on stock blocks while still going strong, many have made the switch to e85 which might not be ideal for a DD but has some nice benefits and if you build it in from the start it is just bigger fuel pump & injectors with a RFS.

There's no appreciable difference between single and TT in the areas you're talking about. Plus, the single is cheaper and an easy DIY. Step one of the TT instructions is "Remove motor".

I thought step 1 of TT install was just throw money in the trash and then remove motor.
Wait...that is all boost builds.

I won't touch water stuff, have had friends dive into that world and basically say whatever you think it cost add 1-2 more zeros to the end.

I was plenty happy the day a became a "former" water craft owner. I'll stick to cars, thank you.
