Few questions
Sorry everyone but I'm not smart with "cars" per-say
So I went to Grubbs Nissan to get my oil change and alignment done. How do you know if they put synthetic oil? Because I requested synthetic oil with service rep, but while I was speaking to the service manager the tech came in asked the service rep if your customer asked for "synthetic?" she said yes but it was not enter correctly or whatever but she pretty much blew it off and argued with the guy. I'm not sure but I think they re-did my oil? Because it took another 30mins to have my car ready but they kept saying "Your car is being washed" lol My car is also turning right - it was horrible before the alignment but it is still doing after the alignment. Took my car to tire shop to make sure my tires/rims are balanced and they are good to go - even then my car pulls right - request for re-alignment? Thanks in advance for your input and suggestions :ughdance: |
I don't know of a Q&D test you could do at home to tell what kind of oil was used. Maybe someone else does. The good news is, as long as they used a high-quality oil, it won't hurt the engine. If you paid for full-syn or Nissan Ester, you got screwed but no harm was done to the car.
If the alignment checks out, you may have a bad tire. If the dealership can't fix the problem, take it to a reliable tire/alignment shop and see what they can do. Edit: Our engines don't take an integer number of quarts to fill and most shops don't buy full-syn in bulk (I don't think Nissan Ester even comes in bulk but not sure). Ask for the unused oil. You'll know what they used and have some handy to top off the level when needed. |
Hello Advan, my name is Philip and I am the advisor for SLC as well a parts advisor for Grubbs Nissan. I checked with the technician that was working on your car on Saturday and he assured me that he did put full synthetic oil in your vehicle (which is in 55gal drums out in the shop). I have talked to the Service Director, Clint Givens, and he is aware of your concern. When would you be able to bring it back in so we can address your alignment issue.

That's good service right there hope they fix all the issues

Yes Ican bring my car in but I work M-F 9-630pm and only time I can stop by is a Saturday -hopefully it doesn't take 4hrs like last Saturday. Thanks |
Now I want to take my car to Grubbs Nissan!
|
I apologize for the delay last Saturday, but if we schedule you a little after lunch it should have died down a little. Just message me and let me know the time you would like to come in so we can have a tech ready.
Hey Angelo, you're not that far. Come on in |
Wow I wish my dealer did **** like this. Great service and attitude.

Advan, if they can't fix your alignment issue at Grubbs, I suggest taking it to Trophy Nissan in Mesquite and ask for Daniel Slatinsky (service adviser). I know it's a haul, but they were the only ones who could figure out the alignment issue I had on my 2003 350Z Track. I had that baby in and out of so many Nissan dealerships that even Nissan North America had to get involved. Trophy was the only place that had the techs that knew how to resolve the issue.
(Not trying to slam Grubbs at all! Only suggesting it as a last resort if it cannot get resolved there) |
I've had nothing but good experiences with normal services over there at Grubbs. The guys at SLC also hooked me up with a great deal on some Fast Intentions and Stillen G3's installed
:happydance: |
I have to say -- Philip has given me the best customer service and utmost courteous.
Hopefully they can get alignment resolved. |
Update:
Went in around 1PM to get my alignment re-done - gave them my old paper work that tech printed. After 2hrs they said it's done and it should be good to go. So I went straight to get my tires balanced and checked out - still having issues where my car pulls right; it's better then I had before but anytime I'm driving 20+ miles it pulls right. Anything above 60mph it's an aggressive pull to right. I know they tried their best but I may have to take it somewhere else to get this resolved. FYI: Car never severally hit the curb, hit the pot hole or any sort. Also I understand that tech has to drive my car align it make sure everything is ok but few concerns. 1. My gas range said 62 miles left - got the car back saying 37 miles left (A lot of driving or driving the car hard) 2. Temp gauge was reading 250 - 260F 3. Grease all over my radio console (no problem - easy clean) 4. No communication like last time - no check up saying your cars in etc etc Don't mean to sound like I'm complaining but I just want it to be fixed. Anyone know of a place I can this fixed asap. |

Let me preference my next statements with, I think a car is a car, I don't give a half a shït if it gets totaled as long as what was living inside is still living, BUT I HATE those who disrespect others' possessions that they worked for and they spent their money on... 1. Gas gauge doesn't mean anything. 2. You mean, right when they got back, "here's your car" and on your way? Because then yes, 250-260 is WAYYYYYYY too high 3. With that said, the dealer owes you a full car detail IMO 4. I don't know what to say... |
