New Guy Needs Help! - SLU Failure

So I have had my Z 2 weeks and the SLU failed tonight.

Here's the kicker that really pisses me off, I just took it into Bankston 2 days ago for the recall and it failed tonight!!

I've searched and doesn't seem to be a fix but get towed to dealer, is this still correct?

I'm beyond upset right now!

Any help is appreciated.

You can try hitting the slu repeatedly while trying to start it

so your saying the steering lock that just got replaced has already failed ? :shakes head:

:shakes head:wow

That's exactly what I'm saying.

I'm going to try to get them to send a tech on site to avoid possible tow truck damage.

Fortunately the car is at my place.

I've put on less than 100 miles ans started the car less than 10 times prior to the recall failure...

Sry for the bad luck op. Once it's fixed again, just pull the fuse. Mine is 09 and I am not even gonna bother with the recall.

shows you how good the replacement ones are . i will most definately be leaving my fuse removed

Thanks everyone, as much as I have enjoyed the car the past couple of weeks I'm enjoying the community even more!

So after trying to beat the hell out of my steering wheel and SLU for over an hour without luck and a sleepless night since my car was parked outside with both windows more than half down it started up this morning like nothing ever happened.

First thing I did was drive it around for a few minutes, brought it into my garage. Put it in ACC mode and yanked the fuse! So hopefully problem resolved!

The fuse did not take me a few minutes like some, I had some stubborn clips and I found it easier to use 2 flat heads to lift the clips.

This video was extremely helpful and will definitely help any of you looking to remove the fuse:

I did call the dealer telling them about the issue and they stated they were confident it wasn't the new part and must be something else and to bring it in to have it looked at...no thanks!

Thank you all for the help, happy driving and please pull the fuse or get stressed out like I did.
