I looked through to see if there was a chat thread for houston and i didn't see anything..thought i'd start one since I didn't see it...anyways, not sure if anyone knows but there's a carshow event this Sunday at the Royal Purple raceway called IFO...i'll be attending quite early to get a good spot and rolling in with the Strictly G's crew...unfortunately, i won't be teamed up with them but i could care less...i just wanna show my car and have a good time meeting and making new friends...if anyone needs anymore info, lmk...

On another note, i recently got my car back from the dealers for a new motor and my CEL is on because of the testpipes i have...i went to Baker Nissan today to get my inspection sticker cuz the light is off now..which passed. But the funny thing is when i was on the way home from the mall, the light came back on....good thing it passed the first time...i just have to put my nonfoulers in my TP's...and furthermore, my passenger headlight bulb is out...so i need to replace them...was thinking of replacing both just so they match...i hate driving with just 1 eye....:icon14::mad:

Since we're just chatting, just gonna chime in and introduce myself. I just bought my 370z from nismodreamr in Iowa. Its a 2011 black touring with sport and has some really nice mods already but there are plans for a few more of course. anyhow, see u guys and gals around.

Luckily for me no one wants to race me. I think my car is intimidating to others because of the carbon fiber and big wheels or something. Only if they knew that all I have is an exhaust lol

LOL! I've had cars that I know would kill me but I hit my BOV and they back off. And than I've had cars I've laughed at and did nothing. Till I felt they needed to learn that there is always someone faster. :tup:

Jason is finishing up his 350z so it will be out more soon, and then a few others. All just depends on which cars are not in the shop being worked on and who is in town.

ohhhh...i saw your z at the shop one day...jason showed me...nice car bro...where r u meeting up with paul and them...? i'm like 10 mins away from baker nissan so i can meet u guys over there is that's convenient..call my cell that i posted up top..

I am not going as my car is still at the shop currently, but just call up Paul and he will let you know what their plans are.

sorry d&G, I just barely checked the forum today and saw that you replied. Yeah I was showing with the team but didnt meet up with them. Just drove in by myself and luckily got there at the same time they did so it all worked out lol. We had a great turnout and won best crew or something like that. Ill post pics soon.

Hey guy's Good thread for meet-ups, However I will be at DriversEdge in College station this weekend (Texas Speedway) for an event. I have wanted to get a car cruise going one weekend. has any one driven the Montgomery Trace on FM149 by Conroe Lake. Any interest, maybe in March?:ugh2:

I've never been to Harris Hill. This TWS weekend will be my first anywhere but MSR-H actually (although I've been several times there now). There was a Silver Nismo parked near the track fence at MSR-H at the TDE event there in late Jan, which I thought might've been you.

Anyways, I'm heading out sometime Friday afternoon. See you at the track Sat :).

What is the TDE event? I was at msrh a few weeks back.

Wstar I will look for you at around 7:00 Sat morn. I may sign up for the next MSRH in Apr. I want to experience that track too.

TDE is The Driver's Edge. It's basically a NASA-style HPDE program, but they're a little bit less anal about some things*. It's pretty cheap ($300 for the weekend - 8 runs total over two days + classroom time), and you get an instructor in your passenger seat on every run in the first two rungroup levels, with headset comms. They mostly run at MSR-Houston, MSR-Cresson, and TWS. I'm really enjoying it so far.

* - That's not to say they don't take safety seriously, but they don't have a giant rulebook either. Classrooms and some handouts tell you what to do and not to do, flagging/passing rules, etc, and a basic tech inspection sheet signed off by any SAE mechanic gets your car on the track for the beginner level, assuming nobody sees an obvious reason to inspect any deeper while you're there. Total asshats and/or idiots are handled on a case-by-case basis via instructor feedback heh

Several of us took 45N > 1375 > 149 > 3090 just a couple of weeks ago. Beautiful drive. Is this the area of 149 you were talking about?
