theres a pdx at msr on the 22nd. its 3 sessions and a classroom session in the morning for $80. then the next 2 days are club trials ($100 a day) which is entry level time trials. no experience needed for the pdx but they would like some experience for the club trials.
SCCA Performance Driving Experience
a handful of people from houston z's are doing the pdx and then a couple of us are doing the club trials.

anyone know a place that's good at painting calipers

wstar 02-14-2013 07:08 AM

Mike from the boards here does an excellent job powdercoating 370Z calipers, he's done many for members here. Old link to a group buy thread from 2009 with pics: http://www.the370z.com/group-buys/72...ercoating.html , links to his powdercoating business: THEPOWDERCOATER.COM . I'd call him about it.

guru 02-14-2013 09:53 AM

+1 for Mike the powdercoater

GhazaliGTE 02-20-2013 01:56 PM

Wrecked my Z on my way to work :crying:

Came over a hill on the highway and saw massive debris so I swerved and lost control. I managed to regain control but it was too late; I rear-ended a Civic and spun out some more, falling off to the valley-shaped hill past the median and finished with a nice little bump to a light pole with my driver's side quarter panel. Front end is destroyed (not sure if I have frame damage but it sure seems like it from the caliber of the crash and slide) and left quarter panel is dented pretty good. Civic is totaled from the back-- frame damage. Everyone is okay as far as I know...except for my ego..

VDC_OFF 02-20-2013 02:01 PM

oh noes! This is sad news, glad you are ok. Where was this?

TX_370 02-20-2013 02:52 PM

Near the 288s/beltway 8 intersection. Waiting to hear back from the body shop today or tomorrow if it's been totaled. I feel like a total idiot lol that's the worst part! Couldn't handle the 70mph drift haha :(

shihtake 02-20-2013 05:55 PM

That damned rain...!

Dude. That's rough, but like we used to say in the USMC when I was flying helicopters, "any landing you can walk away from is a good one"

Collect your insurance and build your baby up this time like you wish you would have last time.

It's just stuff after all.

Thankfully, it was just my Z and the Civic I hit. This was at 5:30 AM.

Thank you! They still haven't completed the assessment yet but it's expected to be completed this afternoon. As of now I'm not expecting it to be totaled but that is just an estimate based on the guy's tone over the phone lol no reasonable scientific basis. Don't be mad at me, PSYCH majors..haha

Z_Nismo 03-20-2013 02:09 PM

Anyone know of a reputable place to install a clear bra on a 2013 Nismo in the Houston area? I live about 2 hours away, but no one in my area really has the expertise to apply it.

Thanks in advance...

-Sal

I would ask Greg at Underground Graphics, he probably does them.

TKomodo 03-23-2013 09:25 AM

Check Spider Wraps Vehicle, Boat, Motorcycle Wraps

Z_Nismo 03-24-2013 02:38 PM

Thanks guys; I'll check both suggestions out.

Robert_K 04-05-2013 04:37 AM

Can anyone recommend a gunsmith in the Spring, The Woodlands or, Tomball area. I have several parts coming for my Benelli M4 and I don't have the tools to install them. Thanks!

TKomodo 04-05-2013 12:01 PM

Try Clint at Hot Wells Shooting Range

Robert_K 04-05-2013 12:13 PM

Thanks!

Sorry to hear about your accident, but don't worry you're not alone. I wrecked my G35 Coupe there too because of debris on the road and it was raining. Bounced off the Beltway 8 barrier at 50mph. Frame damage but I got it fixed, bought myself a 370Z and gave the G35 to my sister as a birthday present LOL. See pic..

wstar 04-09-2013 07:48 PM

Beltway 8 needs corner workers :P

songbong 04-10-2013 05:24 PM

is there a member from baker tuning in this forum that i can get into contact with

VDC_OFF 04-11-2013 11:19 AM

Paul was on here going by the name of Baker but has locked all his threads and hasnt been online since Feb. Not sure if they are still selling parts, call him at the south store.

Ron 04-11-2013 12:11 PM

Last I heard from Carlos (Service guy) at Baker North. Baker Tuning is no more. Brad is no longer working for them and Paul is at the South Store. Jason is still at the North Store.

songbong 04-11-2013 12:18 PM

would they still install and paint parts? or does anyone have any good places around the SW houston area?

Ron 04-11-2013 12:24 PM

I am sure they would. It's a dealership.

songbong 04-11-2013 12:58 PM

would it be ridiculously expensive though?

Ron 04-11-2013 01:13 PM

I dunno. Call their body shop, ask for Manny. He will let you know.

theDreamer 04-11-2013 01:13 PM

Link anything I would get some quotes from different places.
For paint at Baker I would talk to Manuel, works in that department & get a solid quote or help find others who can help. Email: mortiz@bakernissan.com
For install speak with Carlos in service at the North location & will get a quote/time estimate.

What are you looking at having installed & painted?

He's the guy I dealt with when I got my front lip painted.
