Texas visit

Is anyone from around the Port Arthur area?

I have a couple questions for you, as I may be visiting this area soon.

More importantly, does anyone work at the Port Arthur refinery?

No, they blow up every 3-5 yrs so I try to stay away. Plus it smells bad, bunch of us in Houston though.

Oh yes, the smell of money

If I get the posting, I'll be sure to visit Houston for a peek.

I'm joking, I work in Oil & Gas so I don't mind the refineries! Thats how we make big money down here and why people all over the country and world come to work in Texas. Texas rocks http://serve.mysmiley.net/party/party0031.gif

I've worked in Oil and gas (mostly oil) for 29 years  now. Where did the time go?

I'm just trying to get more info on the Port Arthur expansion (retrofit?) for a opportunity to go there and do a reactor catalyst load/start-up. Even though I specialize in H2 production and diesel/Jet manufacturing. But I've supervised a few reactor catalyst +sulphiding(stinky!) loads in my time.

Just out of curiousity ........how's the overtime ratio at your place?

O&G 12-21-2011 01:37 PM

I'm a independent petroleum landman, I deal with leasing/drilling operations for Chesapeake! Sorry I have no idea on the overtime ratios for that particular refinery. Good luck though, hope it works out!
