I've contacted powerfab for TT installation, tuning and just regular dyno usage. Jeremy's response is always the same. None or "I'll get back to you". I personally wont be going there even if they were the best shop in town, their customer service blows. I guess you have to really know them to get some service.

Dzel 04-06-2012 07:35 AM

I didn't want to hear that, I can not find a installation and tuning company in Texas. I don't have the time or money to lug the Z around to get it all buttoned up and tuned

Ron 04-06-2012 07:39 AM

Jtran

O&G 04-06-2012 07:41 AM

there is Asians there and they can tune UpRev ;)

Robert_K 04-06-2012 07:51 AM

Please leave the shop wars out. I have my personal options about other local & out of state shops but I will not discuss them in someone's build thread.

DZEL: I would suggest doing research and contact various shops to make your choice for where you like to take your car.

Ron: Empty your PM box! LOL

Ron 04-06-2012 07:59 AM

Ooops, its empty now. Sorry for the derail lol

O&G 04-06-2012 08:01 AM

We are lucky to have so many shops in the Houston area that do great work on VQ's. I suggest getting on local forums, other car forums and general searches to figure out what suites you. Hell, come to town and visit the shops, meet the owners, etc.... spending big money on FI isn't a joke unless you ball like Robert K :)

O&G 04-06-2012 08:13 AM

Getting back on topic..... that Haltech unit is golden. Can't wait to see the final numbers after break in.

Ron 04-06-2012 08:15 AM

:werd: I want Haltech...

You do make a good point. Make a trip to Houston, or even Dallas, and go to the various shops. Talk to owners like myself, O&G, Ron, Dreamer, etc... who have gone through the FI experience at various shops. I bet we can tell you what we like and don't like even with the shops we repeatedly use.

Oh and I might be spending big money now but as soon as I get home it comes to a dead stop! :wtf2: LOL

Back to subject... I believe the car should be hitting the dyno next week for break-in and than tuning. My wife will be taking the HREs to EVS Motors next Friday to have the R888 mounted. Than to PowerFab and hopefully we'll see some pictures of them installed. Or maybe I'll wait on posting them and won't show the car till I come home. :icon23:

Dzel 04-06-2012 09:18 AM

(Didn't mean to derail the thread but this is alot of money we're talking about and it's easy to waste thousands if you make the wrong call)

Haltech is the S*it. Can't wait to see your final numbers.

I'll be in Austin later this month and through the rest of the year I can take long weekends here and there. When ever I get my budget figured out on which way I want to go and I'll make.

Check out Boost Logic. I have a good friend that works there. Let me know and I'll give him a heads up you're coming.

Price really does matter based on wheel, sizing and choice of coloring. MSRP for a set of 19" P43SC is $6800. But that's MSRP. I can give you my vendor if you are truly interested but HREs are far from cheap. I think I've heard of a set sell for in the $4k range.

O&G 04-06-2012 02:20 PM

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOBS (trying to get more post under my belt, go ahead and rep me too)

HRE or GTFO

Ron 04-06-2012 02:20 PM

I want a step lip for sure. Not sure on face design yet. 19x10 and 19x12. I am not on the market yet but will be right after I get coilovers and brakes.

O&G 04-06-2012 02:24 PM

CAUTION: 19x12 is sexy, be careful

I want a step lip as well. Leaning towards Avant Garde's M350. Boost will be first though

I'll hit you up on Facebook on my vendor. Also talk with Lon, bugzy, he helped me with my offset selection. Check out the 560C series. I plan on getting a second set for my daily whenever I buy one. And trust me when I say that HRE is customer service!!!! HRE and Tony stayed in contact with me all the time and were VERY helpful with all my questions. The wait is rough but well worth it.
