If I was looking for wheels, I would jump on it. $800 for brand new in box Varrstoen 2.2.2's is an absolute STEAL.

I'll take payments for local buyer... $400 now / $400 in 30 days or something.

Sorry bro, just saw this post.

Not sure how much of a difference octanes make, but since I'm tuned for 93... I don't want to risk detonation since I filled up with 87 on accident. Trying to burn through this tank as fast as I can, but right now it seems like I'm getting the best gas mileage ever... :ughdance:

It's cool bro no prob! Well my first time at the track I was able to hit 13.73, I don't think I did horrible:p... I guess I just need to work on the launch. I swapping out my nos jets for a 75, and filling my tank to go hit the track again on Friday, if i get there early @ 7:00 I could get at least a couple runs with the nitrous.

Illmatic370z 10-11-2012 10:38 AM

So any of you'll going to the meet next weekend at beef o Brady's?

or you can just drive by STC and check it out.

I should hit high 12's with my current setup especially since I got some decent rubber now. However, I've never launched the Z like I mean it so it will take a couple of runs to find the sweet spot. I'm shooting for next Wednesday!... Hopefully I can burn through this tank of gas by then. :icon14:

Take a cruise to harlingen or the island. It'll eat that gas away. I made the same mistake a few months back. luckily only poured in a 1/4 tank.

Yeah I wanna check it out and I could use some help with the install if anyone will through out a hand.

LEGA-Z 10-11-2012 03:51 PM

Well guys, I upgraded the nitrous jets from a 50shot to 75shot... Got a full tank of nitrous ready for Friday:tup: and a better looking gauge! Liquid filled this time:D

This is the Dynamat on the trunk bed, greatly reduces sound. And the quick disconnects I installed to easily pop out the subwoofer box:tup:

Hey guys is this correct?

370z:
Horsepower---332
Weight (lbs)----------3,232
Power to weight---- 9.73lbs/hp

Reduce 100 pounds:
Weight= 3,132(lbs)/332(hp)= 9.43lbs/hp
In turn: 3,232/9.43 = 342hp (plus 10hp)

Sooooo if spare tire/jack and other stuff you got in the back weighs about 50lbs(according to most) and the passenger seat weighs maybe around 40lbs... You can get almost 10HP just by poppin them out:D

Lets go a step further:

Reduce 500lbs= 393HP but I think that is stripping the car completely haha.

Plus I am using curb weight not gross weight... Which include passengers/cargo/fluids....

LEGA-Z 10-12-2012 12:59 AM

I like this though:tup:

Cutting weight won't give you more HP... Just changes power to weight ratio which will definitely help. I heard for every 100lbs in weight reduction you can shave 1/10th off your quarter mile.

That's why those little honda hatchbacks with 200whp run 12's in the quarter mile... They weigh nothing.

I know it won't give you more HP, your not doing anything to the engine, but by increasing the power to weight ratio, you proportionally increase HP, if you still weighed "the same". Thats what I mean. If you look at the math, that's exactly what I did... Just sayin:)

Apparently I suck at shifting in an auto:/ the best I'm doin is high 13's close to 14 flat... Any tips on shifting rpms? This is while some wheel spin and no nos...

Get a grounding kit. leave it on DS mode. let the computer do the work. Well its what all guys on myg37 recommended. launch the car at 2k

After further investigation apparently 370z only have D and M mode. so i have no idea.

Illmatic370z 10-12-2012 09:41 PM

Damm hommie is that with you running on Nos too? To tell you the truth I don't even know what rpm I shift at, all I know is that i zone in on the sound of the engine and that has never failed me.

what is your 60ft?

the track is tricky...i've never been GOOD at a track. example, my friend in that lime green GTI ran a 13.5 and my best was a 13.7...but on the street i will beat him without a problem.

What's your trap speed?

I think you should free up your exhaust and get cold air intakes. HFC's, a catback, Stillen G3's and a tune. Even if you get high flow cats and an aftermarket y-pipe, that will help greatly.

If you're running high 13's without the nitrous... That's about right for a basically stock Z. The short tails aren't going to free up that much power and the K&N intakes are most likely heat soaking.

If you still have your system in the back, too... I'm not sure how much it all weights, but seems like it might be quite a bit. That's creating a lot of extra weight your Z is dragging around.

Well the system is out, so that's not a prob... I feel the power of the car is not getting to the road as much, at least last night... The track was pretty slippery, we had a couple accidents, and a lot of spin outs... I myself was not getting any traction. Maybe another time at the track might get realistic times with the nitrous... Uprev is giving me a sponsorship with a free tune/nitrous tune, and half price on the labor for the dyno, and I am waiting to hear back from Stillen about their sponsorship, hopefully they can throw in G3's headers, HFC's or test pipes.. Etc.... We will see what they say...

Nice!.... Are your trap speeds in the 100-105mph range or higher?

atx370z 10-13-2012 01:05 PM

I have my eye on the boosted performance single turbo twin scroll kit. Super easy install that I could most likely do in my garage will save a ton of $$ on labor. 500whp with 4.08 gears doesn't sound like a great idea... Might be willing to do a complete differential swap with someone local if I go this route. The 4.08 gears make the Z accelerate 10% faster than stock for anyone who doesn't know their affect. Cost vs. gain.. huge.

....what is your 60ft? Are you on stock Potenzas? Did you do a small burnout to 'clean' the tires? When are you engaging the nitrous?

if you say there where a lot of spin outs + a few crashes, then there was probably some sort of oil/lubricant on the track itself.

Well the only time I shot the nitrous was after a lot of spin in first and second gear, I shot the nitrous mid 3rd gear and hit the trap at 109...

109 traps are good for 12's all day long. Just gotta keep the wheels from spinning and perfect your launch. Practice (and a well prepped track + stickier tires) makes perfect.
