Dallaz, please tell what lens you are using and if any of these shots have been PS? Some look like you had a lighting rig, I cannot see how the closeup of the car emblems came out with so much detail. All of the shots are simply amazing....it's ok to give up the day job with that eye thru the lens!

thanks for the great compliment. No lighting for any of the shots. All of the photos I shoot are edited in Aperture as RAW files so I can bring out a lot of extra shadow detail before ruining the quality of the image. I would miss Valeting lol. Parking Lambo's, Ferrari's, Vipers etc is too much fun!

But me and my girlfriend do occasionally shoot photography gigs for extra cash. As for lenses for each specific shot I would have to double check, but I believe most shown were shot with our D700 and 70-200mm VR1 lens. The 2 from today's shoot were shot with the Nikon 16-35mm f/4 VR lens that we just purchased since dropping and breaking our Tamron 17-35mm f/2.8-4...

Right now our lenses consist of:
Nikon DX 10.5mm f/2.8 Fisheye
Sigma 30mm f/1.4 (for crop sensor, I believe it's EX)
Nikon 85mm f/1.8
Nikon 105mm Micro f/2.8
Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 VR1
Nikon 16-35mm f/4 VR

I really want to buy a new tilt shift after owning the 85mm. Those are so much fun to shoot with, but for 2K I could also buy a lot of goodies for the Z.
5AM... better get some sleep.

Everyone needs to pull through on this C&C pre meet. If you think your going, let us know so we can get a solid list of people interested in meeting early

Dallaz, yeah those CV3's are nice wheels. I'm for sure down this Saturday.

Dang 70% chance too, bummer. If it rains they postpone it until the following weekend. We'll see what happens

sexZness 11-29-2011 01:41 PM

Oooooo~!!! hope it pours like a mofo!!! :stirthepot:

Just as I suspected not to happen, the forecast hasn't changed. One bit.

Son of a beach!

sexZness 11-30-2011 07:14 PM

Let's hope it doesn't rain on the 10th

Apple has it going with Aperture, just read an article on it, amazing. I may just have to pick up a MAC. What a setup with all that gear. Impressed !!

What lens would recommend to someone just starting out? I have the 50D with standard lens.

zentropy 12-02-2011 09:33 PM

Anyone still planning on making the trek?

Dallaz 12-03-2011 02:09 AM

I will be going if it's not raining when I wake up. And I don't think it's going to rain until around 11-12 which even then is only like 40% chance per the weather channel app. I'll be at starbucks at 6:45

zentropy 12-03-2011 06:15 AM

On my way. Weston, do me a favor and text me the Starbucks address. 832-253-7092.
