Why the 10th? In actually off Saturday the 3rd. How about then?

I'm off Saturday until 4:30pm. If everyone wants to go out for photos after the show or grab lunch or both let's try to work it out ahead of time

sexZness 11-27-2011 12:08 AM

I was just throwing a number out there... I think Shane (red 370 from SA) will be in town that weekend

sexZness 11-27-2011 12:09 AM

But the 3rd would work, too

ZForce 11-27-2011 12:37 AM

Dallaz, please tell what lens you are using and if any of these shots have been PS? Some look like you had a lighting rig, I cannot see how the closeup of the car emblems came out with so much detail. All of the shots are simply amazing....it's ok to give up the day job with that eye thru the lens!

thanks for the great compliment. No lighting for any of the shots. All of the photos I shoot are edited in Aperture as RAW files so I can bring out a lot of extra shadow detail before ruining the quality of the image. I would miss Valeting lol. Parking Lambo's, Ferrari's, Vipers etc is too much fun!

But me and my girlfriend do occasionally shoot photography gigs for extra cash. As for lenses for each specific shot I would have to double check, but I believe most shown were shot with our D700 and 70-200mm VR1 lens. The 2 from today's shoot were shot with the Nikon 16-35mm f/4 VR lens that we just purchased since dropping and breaking our Tamron 17-35mm f/2.8-4...

Right now our lenses consist of:
Nikon DX 10.5mm f/2.8 Fisheye
Sigma 30mm f/1.4 (for crop sensor, I believe it's EX)
Nikon 85mm f/1.8
Nikon 105mm Micro f/2.8
Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 VR1
Nikon 16-35mm f/4 VR

I really want to buy a new tilt shift after owning the 85mm. Those are so much fun to shoot with, but for 2K I could also buy a lot of goodies for the Z.
5AM... better get some sleep.

Everyone needs to pull through on this C&C pre meet. If you think your going, let us know so we can get a solid list of people interested in meeting early

zentropy 11-27-2011 10:02 AM

Dallaz, yeah those CV3's are nice wheels. I'm for sure down this Saturday.

sexZness 11-28-2011 05:00 PM

I'm still in the process of sweet-talking the boss into letting me have that day off :shakes head:

sexZness 11-29-2011 10:26 AM

Just FYI, it's supposed to rain Saturday

Dang 70% chance too, bummer. If it rains they postpone it until the following weekend. We'll see what happens

sexZness 11-29-2011 01:41 PM

Oooooo~!!! hope it pours like a mofo!!! :stirthepot:

dAvenue 11-30-2011 05:16 PM

Just as I suspected not to happen, the forecast hasn't changed. One bit.

Son of a beach!

sexZness 11-30-2011 07:14 PM

Let's hope it doesn't rain on the 10th

Apple has it going with Aperture, just read an article on it, amazing. I may just have to pick up a MAC. What a setup with all that gear. Impressed !!

What lens would recommend to someone just starting out? I have the 50D with standard lens.

zentropy 12-02-2011 09:33 PM

Anyone still planning on making the trek?

Dallaz 12-03-2011 02:09 AM

I will be going if it's not raining when I wake up. And I don't think it's going to rain until around 11-12 which even then is only like 40% chance per the weather channel app. I'll be at starbucks at 6:45

zentropy 12-03-2011 06:15 AM

On my way. Weston, do me a favor and text me the Starbucks address. 832-253-7092.

Dallaz 12-03-2011 06:34 AM

Headed to starbucks

dAvenue 12-03-2011 12:29 PM

So did this happen today or...?

sojirovskensi 12-03-2011 12:58 PM

in for pictures! I wish I was there

Dallaz 12-03-2011 01:27 PM

Me and Kensnismo met at starbucks, had coffee, went to Classic and there were about 10-15 cars but it started sprinkling and so they started tearing stuff down and canceling it. No one missed out. I'll try to find out if they're doing it next week or not

Dallaz 12-03-2011 01:28 PM

The highlight lol! High res pics up later

dAvenue 12-03-2011 01:30 PM

Sorry it was canceled after such an early start. The wife and I were betting on it being rescheduled and decided to get wasted last night. Looking forward to the next show.

Aperture is great. I use it for everything. As for a Lens I'm not too sure about Canon's stuff because I shoot with Nikon. But a suggestion would be to get a lens with a large aperture such as f1.4, 1.8, 2, or 2.8. With larger apertures (aperture is the blades inside the lens that open and close to control depth of field and how much light can hit the cameras sensor during any given shot) you can blur the background by controlling the depth of field which is great for isolating the subject, and they're also better for getting faster shutter speeds by allowing more light to hit the sensor, which means less blurry photos.

sexZness 12-05-2011 06:46 PM

Guess see you guys in January? :ugh2: or was it postponed to this saturday?

birdseed404 12-05-2011 07:36 PM

Is there anything going on after the 15th? I'm currently in school in Colorado and have my Z at home.

Dallaz 12-09-2011 02:06 PM

Well, there will be no C&C this weekend despite last weekends rain as the show was not actually cancelled, they had everything set up and ready but then took everything down really early before most people had even arrived because of the rain. So Jan 7th is the date for the next show.

dAvenue 12-09-2011 04:27 PM

Thanks for the heads up.

We will be having our weekly Thursday meets in the DFW area, separate thread.

Dallaz 12-31-2011 01:05 PM

One week away from cars and coffee in January on the 7th. If weather stays anything like it is now this will be an awesome show with amazing turnout.

WHO'S GOING?!?!

sexZness 12-31-2011 01:20 PM

I'M TRYING!!! Lol

kensnismo 12-31-2011 01:22 PM

I'm in for next week.

zentropy 12-31-2011 09:59 PM

I'll be there.

ZForce 01-01-2012 02:02 PM

Take lots of photos, fingers crossed for good weather.

zentropy 01-05-2012 02:17 PM

Anyone down to meet up before hand and roll in together?

sexZness 01-05-2012 04:39 PM

:hello:

Dallaz 01-05-2012 05:37 PM

Starbucks in the shops at Legacy has been where me and Kensnismo have met for the past few months to grab coffee before the show. It's only 1 mile from the Venue (classic BMW). I will be there and I believe ken as well around 6:30-6:45am
