SE Texas Paint Shop?
 

Hey everyone,

I'm wondering if anyone has a good paint shop reference? I want to paint my sport wheels close to the 40TH color, but I want it done right. I haggled with my local dealership and got them DOWN to $3000 with center caps! That's ridic!!!!!

Anyway, someone helped me with a quick photoshop on my PPW and it looks HOT!

Don't paint, you need to powder coat wheels. IMO.

That's what I thought too, but I've read a few posts about powder coating weakening the wheel; making it crack. Too important to risk! Do you know about this? Have you heard anyting like that? Do you know of any good places around here that could do it?

had my wheels painted black by ManCave Customs in Brenham.. kinda FAR from you.. but they did a great job. PM me for name & number. Pics of the wheels are in my profile album.

I actually did it myself and it turned out good to my surprise..and I'm no professional painter or anything. Just a 19 year old kid in his little garage lol I really think anybody can do it if you take the right steps.

I've always powdercoated wheels and they've always been fine. Companies paint wheels because it's cheaper. Industries use powdercoating as a protect-ant, so I would think it wouldn't make sense that it would weaken it, all you're doing is shooting the object with little "plastic" beads while your run electric current through the object, then heating it in an oven so the beads melt and cure onto the item.
