Track in Texas

I really want to get the Z out on a track, preferably a road course. Where in Texas can I get track time? Any other Z owners heading to the track soon?

Closest one to you is MSR-Houston. Then there is texas world speedway too.

I haven't taken My car yet bc it's too much wear'n tear for my liking but I race my sport bike out there.

MSR is tighter and more technical when TWS is fast and wider so it can cover more mistakes. If you're in Katy both tracks about equal distance from you.

Pretty much dead on, there are a couple around Austin I believe also and 1-2 in Dallas that are fairly good.
Look up HPDE and that should get you started in the right direction.

I've never thought tracking my Z would be a possibility but I'm starting to dig the idea now :) So are there any good ones around the DFW area? Or would any of you recommend one over the others (if there are more than one, of course)?

If you do want to track yours, I'd say you should keep those stock 18s for the track, just in case  I wan to track or autox eventually but probably not until I find another car to DD.

What about the Red Meat and Race Fuel events at MSR Houston? I've never been but plan to check it out sometime.

I ran the 3.1 mile course at MSR Cressen, SW of DFW and was very pleased with the facility, people, and track. +1 for TheDriversEdge.net

That Red Meat and Race Fuel @ MSR sounds tempting, I may have to check that out. Dirt cheap too, but mostly it sounds like a free-for-all, whereas more structured programs will class drivers by experience level and help with some basic coaching, etc.

From the last few times I surveyed the net for HPDE-type stuff, I had pretty much settled on Grandsport Speedway as where I'm likely to go regularly, it seems to be the most reasonably priced setup in the H-town area for someone that wants to do HPDE events on a regular basis (MSR's membership fees are kinda ridiculous, seems more geared for pro/semi-pro types, or people with too much cash to burn). Now I'm just trying to find a good Sunday for my first trip out there (lots of unpredictable travel coming up in the next month or two).

Z Club of Houston has done this at Texas World Speedway and Z Club of Texas has had a couple in past too. You may want to contact those clubs to see if they have any plans to co-host a track event this Summer or Fall.
