I have a garage, some tools, and a bit of knowledge working on the Z. I am happy to help with basic maintenance or troubleshooting as able
Speaking of garage time, ahem.. I may need to poke at you for a bit if it's cool. There may be some beer involved.

Oh wow! Well I would definitely be interested in helping to organize events and even create and run as admin a FB page. I was close with Matt DiPalo the admin for the CFZC and helped with a lot of the events. I understand it may be a quiet scene in Austin but would be nice to at least get some people together for fun events.....outside of the car world We actually do Thursday Z meets where we go play pool, dinner, bowling..... and more, so just would be nice to establish something fun like that out in Austin.

I try to make it out to things when I can, but working nights has me pretty out of the loop. I really wanted to make the dinner last on Thursday night for instance, but 6pm was just too early for me to be awake and get ready in time.

Honestly, just listen for the really loud black Z that you don't want to drive behind with open vents and that is likely me. Still <3 your headers Pint.

Jar, shoot me a text or something. I think my phone may be doing wonky things.

Looking forward to seeing you around town! The Z should be fine, Austin is a pretty nice city from my experience. Just drive like noone see's you in the rain. People's IQ's drop like 50 when water starts to fall it seems.

Fair enough - so I will be riding on my S04 Summer tires. Does the temp drop enough in Winter that I need to get a winter set?

I haven't thrown on my oil cooler yet so I am assuming that is a must have for summer?

Thanks!

I've been trying to talk the hubs into finding one with a salvage title that I can still mod. Problem is buying all my mods again will cost me closer to retail than it did the first time. Might as well wait for the next gen if it ever comes around.

I'll throw some wheels and an axle back "exhaust" on the 6 and see how happy that makes me feel. (It won't....)

Instead of modding the 6, save every dime and put yourself one step closer to another z. But... I'm one to talk... I'm all for instant gratification. I got the z when I couldn't afford a GTR. Lol

Now I'll never afford one... Mod after mod after mod. Lol

Depends on how you drive the car. Tires should be fine for street driving. Just be careful if performance tires haven't warmed up. I had some issues with RE-11s but the other tires I've used have been fine. I expect S-04s will not present any problems.

I don't have an oil cooler. I hit 220-240F temps on the gauge daily for years now. I get a little timing pulled in the summer now and again, but no limp mode or anything. Not having an oil cooler just keeps me from beating on it for any length of time. If I sat in bumper to bumper traffic more often or took it out for autox or track, the oil cooler would be a must. It will likely be my next major mod.
