Anyone looking into joining? Bat City Rallye in Austin

Am I the only one not seeing any details about the actual event? Like where, what, etc?


Edit: Found the poster and mystery description. Sounds interesting but I don't think I have the skillZ needed lol.

Not sure what kind of skills you think you need. Here are some more details about this type of event.

What's a Rallye?

Speed to get it done quicker and win. Me driving with time limits on me = no bueno.

Any of you guys/gals interested in hitting San Antonio Drag Strip? I have gone quite often during my sport bike days and twice so far with my Z. Lots of fun and not expensive at all. If you havent gone before and would like to, I can give you pointers to get past the intimidation factor and no... you will not blow up your car.

I know ShoFamous has been out there a few times but I have yet to make it down. I wouldn't mind spectating.

The best time to go is on a Wednesday or Friday and it opens right at 6:30pm. It's 10 bucks to get in and 10 bucks for a tech card. You must tech your car to run so please ensure that your car has decent tires and does not leak.
My advice is to get there early, run your passes untill about 8pm and then spectate. You can continue to make passes but there may be wait times to get them.
Bring a helmet if you have one. They really dont say anything but technically any car running less than 14 seconds requires it. Im in the 13's and they havent said anything to me yet so roll the dice if you decide not to bring one.
Turn off your A/C about 10 miles prior to arriving at the track (dripping/condensation) they will boot you off.
If we can get a few Z's out there we can find a spot and park together. Bring lawn chairs if you like. Sneak a cooler in for sodas.
Its pretty much like a car show but we get to race. Hang out, BS a bit, and see who has the fastest Z out there. Lots of fun. I have a great time every time I go.

For those of you who are interested, what day do you prefer? Wednesdays are best if you want to make passes but Fridays you get to see some fast cars with limited passes. Im available on either day.

I will set up a date and time once I get some feedback from the Austin group. Any San Antonio guys/gals are welcome too and they even closer.

The day doesn't matter to me as much as the date. Wednesday would probably be my preference, so I can get more runs. But I would be down for Friday to watch the fun cars, too.

You say sneak a cooler in for sodas. Do they sell concessions? I assume alcohol is not permitted? Not for me, but I'll need it in order to convince the wife to join :icon17:

A couple weeks notice would be ideal for me as well. My schedule tends to fill up last minute, so getting something on the calendar early is best way for me to commit :tiphat:

Yea sneak a cooler in. Sodas and beer are extremely expensive there. Yes, beer is allowed so your wife will be happy. lol. I will post up here for a good date and will pm everyone that wants to go my phone#.
