Texas Z's - Did anyone get their Z from a dealer from another state?
Not sure if this is true or my dealer is just feeding me some bulls**t.
I bought my car in Dallas, they managed to find the car I wanted from a Nissan dealership in Mississippi and it was transported here, this was 12 months ago. When I was renewing the registration this month, I noticed my State Inspection expired this month also. I know new cars normally have 2 years before they need this doing right? So I checked with my salesperson and he informed me that, as the car was brought in from out of state, they were only allowed to put a 1 year sticker on it. Did anyone else know if this is true or not?

I suspect the salesman is correct, and he got his info from the Dealership's "Office", and they hate being wrong (cause it means they need to re-do paperwork). It's probably a yellow tape/beaurocratic thing. Check with your local county tax assessor's office

I know that if you buy a car out-of-state and bring it in yourself, you're only allowed a 1 year sticker. In '07, I was relocated from Michigan down here, and bought a brand new car literally two weeks before my move. When I arrived down here, they only let me get a 1-year inspection.
My guess is since it wasn't originally shipped directly to the Texas dealer, they may have been afraid that it wouldn't pass inspection down here (in Michigan, we didn't have to worry about emissions, front plates, or hurricanes... just snow ). |

That is true. I just picked up my NISMO from Arkansas and there is no inspection sticker that came from the dealer. I have to go thru the whole process myself. Awesome-ness, right..............
