Also, let me join the others in welcoming you to Texas. To echo others, Fossil Creek is nice area and will be pretty convenient for your commute, but you'll want to avoid I-35W as much as possible. There are major wrecks on it almost everyday (esp. between N. Tarrant Pkwy and Loop 820).
You'll also find more Z's around DFW than almost any where in the country. Fort Worth has Cowtown Z Club and Dallas has Z Club of Texas with monthly events, including fun drives that usually end up at good barbeque joints. And if you're ever interested in track events, you'll want to check out Motorsports Ranch in Cresson which is about 20 minutes south of Ft Worth.
