The monoflex are more of a track oriented coilover where the flex is a street/autox coilover

They are EDFC compatable, but do not come with the EDFC controller. So in this since it is not a waste of money by any means The coilovers work just fine without the EDFC. It is not needed to run these coilovers. Hope this helps!

I can sell you the EDFC as well, but it is an additional cost.

I had the Tein FLEX w/ EDFC on my S2000 and overall I have no complaints. These coilovers are good without EDFC, and even better with it.

The EDFC really gives the driver control over the coilover's performance and with the push of a button can alter the luxury feel of the car on daily roads or stiffen the coilovers up for a hard day at the track. Just like with a muscle when it is relaxed and then FLEXed. Great find Ryan and good luck with the sale .

It's about $440 for the entire EDFC kit.

Taken from TEIN's website. I hate to copy and paste, but it really is the best explanation.

The EDFC (Electronic Damping Force Controller) makes it possible for the driver to control the damping force at the touch of a button while in the driver seat. This is accomplished by controlling stepping motors installed on each shock absorber. Because the damping force can be controlled with such ease, the driver can adjust the suspension to suit all road/track conditions. Thus allowing the driver to fully enjoy the driving experience.
