Thats it. From his sig he doesn't even run CAIs. My ride is ferocious with CAIs...

Has anyone installed the Stillen CBE lately to verify if the install was free of clearance problems?
I have the HFC's and the CBE from Stillen. No "fitment" issues. Never had any. I installed mine in mid July. Sound and performance is fantastic.

going back on topic...
last time i was at stillen i was informed problem has been fix
assuming you buy directly from stillen you should be ok(from what i was told)

now if you are buying from a third party(vendor) it is possible that they still might have an old batch in stock so who knows

Agreed. I was one of the members here who had the earlier batches of Stillen CBEs with crossmember clearance issues. I was able to work it out with Stillen and I was able to get my hands on their adjusted mid-pipe. With the current mid-pipe, the exhaust fits without any clearance issues. If you have any concerns about this, just order it directly through Stillen.

Ordered the exhaust through Stillen and it went in perfectly. No clearance issues at all. Just make sure you don't attach any of the parts upsidedown...I wonder how many people actually did that rather than have an old batch that needed tweaking.

Is it possible to install it upside down? Doesn't the piping only go one way due to the flanges? ie. don't meet up correctly upside-down?

Don't really know. I didn't install mine.

I was there when we installed mine, after mine hit the cross member I thought maybe it's upside down, so we turned it over and the flanges didn't meet up so it appeared that they could only go one way. I'm still trying to sort out a good way of fixing the knocking like 5 months after I installed it haha

Why not call Stillen. Maybe they'll ship you the new version that won't hit the crossmember. They have good customer service, and since they updated the design to fix a problem I'd guess they'd accommodate you.

I'm in Australia, so I doubt they'd ship it down here.

Anyone from Stillen still here? is it possible to mount it upside down?

What have other people done to solve this issue?

Hey guys, I'm taking my car in on Saturday to try and fix this issue, are the hose clamps (some members have done this) the best way to stop it hitting the cross member?

What have other members done to stop the knocking? cheers

I sent them an email but they never got back to me. So might have to do a patch job to get it sorted up. Was thinking about the hose clamps but it's a bit of a dodgy fix

Installed Stillen CBE and G3- did it myself and I have a desk job - no fitment problems at all - went in fine first time - really pretty easy and basic- sounds and feels great- can feel more power and sound is more than stock but not too much that it wears on you out on long ride-
one note on G3 -when you remove the front fascia mark the location of the metal cross member you loosen so you put it back in the same location- it is adjustible and affects allignment with hood
