He spent last year on his back. I think Coughlin needs to hang it up and they need a GM too. They've done an atrocious job of finding and retaining talent. I think a lot of the Eli hate is just because he's in NY. Either you hate NY teams as a rule, or you're a fan and everybody's a bum because there was a guy years ago who was better. Not to mention the massive hardon ESPN gets from anything NY whether it's wins or losses.

I'm not a huge Eli fan, but in his tenure as the starter in NY they've won two SBs. Brady only has one more SB win and two more SB losses and he's the second coming of Christ. And none of those SB wins happened after they got caught cheating.

He could have won two post cheating SBs if it wasn't for one freak helmet catch and a drop by Welker.

He's got three SB rings, makes a fortune, and his Brazilian super model wife makes more money than he does. I will never have any sympathy for the guy.

My point was that it wasn't the lack of cheating that kept them from winning those SBs.

Oh, I know. Correlation doesn't imply causation and all. You could also say he hasn't won the SB since he blew out his knee. Or since they had anyone on defense.

The "Patriot Way" seems to eventually bite you in the *** when you let all your good players not named Brady walk to avoid paying them.

Paying them doesn't always work either *cough* Hernandez *cough*. At least they are starting to realize now that they need some better players to help Brady win another ring.

Well, in their defense there was no way of knowing Hernandez was that much of a hoodlum. It's like he decided that he'd rather win the Rae Carruth trophy than the Vince Lombardi trophy.
