Big news from the Bundesliga:

Jupp Heynckes will become coach of FC Bayern München for the third time this summer, with the Bayer 04 (Never)kusen boss having agreed to replace Louis van Gaal when he leaves at the season's close.

The 65-year-old Heynckes will sign a two-year contract after talks with Bayern board members and sporting director Christian Nerlinger. The head of the Bayern board, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, said: "Jupp Heynckes was our number one candidate. I am convinced we will have a successful relationship with him."

France look sharp today, Gourcuff once again, reaffirming why he needs to be in an Arsenal shirt. I have a gut feeling that Fab is out this summer, we'll fetch 40 mil plus for him, and in doing so, I say we snatch Yoann and Samba. Once they're signed, extend Zidane Jr's contract another 5 years and up his salary another 50k.

wat? i thought they were rather lackadaisical until mexes put in that goal. mexes also played some arsenal-esque defense. that is...

gourcuff would be a good buy. samba? ehhhh....not sold on that one. even though he did look a bit feisty this past weekend. looked almost like a striker on his goal, and nearly put in a brace!

am i the only one who wants to see montolivo in an arsenal shirt? must be because i like fiorentina for no apparent reason other than "OMFG ITS SO PURPLE *swoon*"

I doubt Arsenal would get Gourcuff-- Lyon paid 22m€ (does the euro symbol go before or after the number?) last summer. Arsene rarely drops that kind of coin.

I do, however, wonder if we could sign Adil Rami & M'Vila (Liverpool are said to be very interested).

On France, I wasn't too impressed. They looked so good against England & Brazil-- I was hoping for that kind of performance. Still, I'm glad they were able to break down a team with 11 men behind the ball.

Arsene won't strengthen the offensive midfield. If anything, I hope he's learned he needs a DM like another Alex Song to cope for when the Cameroonian goes down with an injury.

That, and a centre-back. All the naysayers who want a goalkeeper can f*ck off. Szczesny is the man.
