No, he did not cap for the mens side, by Fifa rules, once a player caps for the full mens team (not any Under 21 team, etc.), he is no longer available for another country to use. As of now, he can choose who he wants to play for, hes a military brat with American parents, giving him dual citizenship, once he caps for the full mens side of either nation, he will be stuck with that side internationally for good.

Reading comp > you. He played for the German side. Go look for yourself. You can play for a country just not compete in a tournement.

I love that commercial.

It looks like the US will lose tonight's match, but I'm encouraged (considering it's the B squad). Hercules Gomez looks pretty impressive.

cow 05-25-2010 08:55 PM

& then the Czechs score again & I'm slightly less encouraged.

Red370 05-26-2010 12:29 PM

well Bob Bradley picked a pretty solid team surprisingly, thank f'ing god Ching was left off the team, although I gotta admit i'm pretty surprised DMB made the squad, he showed flashes of brilliance last night and he supposedly has been great in training so who knows. As far as forwards go, i'd say we have pretty much the best we can have at this point, Findlay is very quick, Gomez is on a nasty tear, Jozy holds the ball well and provides a big target in the box, so overall not bad, what are your thoughts?

tc20 05-26-2010 01:28 PM

:iagree:
I think Bob chose the best team possible. I hope Gooch loses that fear factor he obviously had last night.

Who ever is paired up top with Jozy, I feel should do well..although I would love to see a proven international goal scorer like Dempsey at forward.

Overall the team looks good.

So out of morbid curiosity, i watched Japan (pretty much my second home) play South Korea.

Oh my god, they're going to faceplant so bad in the WC it's not even funny. Shut down Shunsuke Nakamura, and the entire team goes "ok we're stuck lulz" and gives up.

Netherlands playing Mexico right now, RvP already has a goal

Though I have no idea how the guy performs in club ball, Im a little disappointed to see Robbie Rogers left off the squad. He has impressed me when he plays on the intl team, whereas DMB I am skeptical about.

Sorry if this is a repost, but it seems that we have finally picked our players for the US team.
